    Hi @mca5701

Can you run the nench.sh benchmark script? To compare CPUs the bzip2-compressing time of a 500 MB file is a good test.

    Thanks!

    hello, this is nench

Thanks @mca5701 they seem to shine in multi thread performance. I guess it's because it's real cores you get, not threads.

Glad to see that you guys are psyched about the Epyc-based cloud instance. :D

I noticed that we have a new Hetzner Cloud tutorial up on our Community about provisioning a load balancer with Ansible, and I thought maybe it would also be useful for a few other people here. Happy Friday! --Katie

The CPU provisioning in the EPYC-based CPX models are for virtual CPUs, just like with the CX models. We don't have any dedicated vCPUs for the EPYC-based cloud instances at this point. If you'd like dedicated vCPUs, you could consider looking at the CCX models (which are based on Intel Xeon Skylake). --Katie

how about spinning them up yourself, bench and delete... it's gonna cost you about 2-3 cents ;-)

Are you buffing up your skills during the quarantine? Want to learn how to configure VMware ESXi on a dedicated server to use Hetzner vSwitches? By following this tutorial, you will be able to easily setup a cluster of vSphere Hosts and live-migrate your VMs between hosts without loosing network connectivity. Hope you enjoy it!

Here's another nice piece of news to round out the work week: we've added Ubuntu 20.04 (Focal Fossa) to our standard OS options for Hetzner Cloud. So you can now get an instance with that almost instantly.

You guys are quick! I like that image with an outline of a fossa in the background

  • I'll just use this thread to ask before making a ticket.

Can anyone enter bgp.he.net through the Hetzner network? It's not working for me on a Nexusbytes vm I'm using as a VPN and it doens't work on a Hetzner cloud instance either.

Do you block this @Hetzner_OL? Or has HE.net blocked this because of abuse?
