After reinstalling it booted fine. But now I am facing issue install openssh-server as I keep getting error:

    apt install openssh-server
    reading package lists... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
or been moved out of Incoming.
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
    openssh-server : Depends: libwrap0 (>= 7.6-4~) but it is not installable
Recommends: ssh-import-id but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

I followed steps mentioned here but it didn't work.
    http://linuxengines.blogspot.com/2016/07/openssh-libwrap-error-on-ubuntu-1204.html

    My sources are:

    deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main
    deb-src http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main

By the way during installation I was unable to install network sources....you know the screen where it shows you different sources like ftp.debian.org etc. and I was unable to connect to any of them so I skipped them.

If you install Debian server, I suggest you use the DVD image, it includes all basic packages even if there's no network during install for some reason.

Also if ure on Debian 9:

deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ stretch main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ stretch main contrib non-free

    deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ stretch-updates main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ stretch-updates main contrib non-free

    deb http://security.debian.org/ stretch/updates main contrib non-free

Please don't take this the wrong way, but aren't you a provider?

I mean, yeah, sure, even a provider can try to get a free KVM (or two), but at the same time, you seem very determined.

    yes

your are correct, this was taken with a purpose of supporting a foss repo hosting

also, i am not quiet sure about the determined thing

May I possibly get one when a slot is available? Just looking to use it for some basic services. Would likely just use it on windows to test some stuff. Maybe even run WordPress on it later if windows isn't my main choice... Nothing big, but I won't idle it!

    Thank you in advance.

  • Is IPv6 available?

IPv6 is unfortunately not available yet in LetKVM. Only IPv4.

Your panel's got support for custom ISO but I noticed that the feature doesn't work at all... It apparently can't read the ISO I upload (was trying to set up FreePBX and figured use the distro if I can before installing manually) and so I can't select it to mount or rebuild with.

I'll just manually set it up the hard way.... :(

Otherwise, everything's awesome, thanks again for offering this!

Edit: by the way... I think your not enforcing the 100mbps cap, as I'm able to push more traffic than I should (was uploading ISO via VPS because my home internet's upload speed would make this operation last hours), so that might need to get a look on.

I'll look into the custom iso thing.

As for that 100Mbps limit, it should be enforced and working. But even if it doesn't, the CPU load on the node is average 6% while the average network load is even less. Many are idling or running light stuff :P, there's certainly space for even heavy usage.

  • If there is a slot, I would like to request one to host my backup files. Thanks

If the custom ISO thing gets fixed, please let me know! I ended up trying to get FreePBX set up on it (for personal testing purposes) but I rather use their distro as it’s typically more complete anyway...

    As for the internet speed....

Might want to take a look.

    Thanks again for offering this!

I'll fix/limit the network if it becomes a problem, so for now just enjoy it I guess?

Will check the custom iso on weekend.

  • no 50 posts yet

  • Fixed rate limiting. should be fixed 100Mbps for everyone now.

Due to a low CPU usage on the node, you may now request an additional CPU core for your VPS which gets activated on next restart after approval.

  • I would love to have one but yeah sorry it will be for legal torrenting.

I like to help seeding some free games and linux distros.

Ahh, no, I don't need it, hopefully no one wants to push couple hundred megabits per second constantly anyway... Glad it's fixed!

Would love to have an additional CPU Core on VPS, if this is still available. Thanks.

@stefeman if possible, kindly let me know in the pm, how much cpu would be available for me

  • I already stated it, another core. So total 2 cores

  • @stefeman If still available, I would like to have an additional CPU core too. I hope I am not too late.

Anyway thank you for this nice offer. :)

Hi @stefeman, I would like to have one to host a backup script and add it as a gitlab-runner. If there is a slot of course, thanks.
