Because they claim to be running raid 10. Which is not true if they need downtime to replace a disk! I got scammed and would like others to be aware.

No where in the textbook stated that RAID 10 must NOT cause downtime to replace a disk. This is NOT a scam, please dont make any more false accusations.

FAT32 file system won't let me store files bigger than 4gb.

THIS IS A SCAM! Be aware!

I guess that isn't proper to be posted on their site.

Would you be happier if they said, "In an abundance of caution, even though we don't need it, we're scheduling some downtime....." ?

Nah, he'd rather go with old disks that either perform really bad or fails and loses data

  • I know most everyone in this thread work for the company but for anyone else out there beware! Just watch how everyone is attacking me for no reason at all but to protect you!

The ENTIRE POINT OF RAID 10 IS ZERO DOWNTIME

    THIS MAKES NO SENSE!

I'm pretty sure he wouldn't even noticed the downtime if VirMach didn't send the email

I lost my words. All I can say is good luck to all the providers which you are using

  • I'm on a lot of providers and generally add on 2 new companies every year. NEVER had this issue.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm VirMach's Chief IPoAC Officer

  • I just took out one of my disks from my raid10 array and I lost my 17 BTC stored on it. Help I thought it should have no downtime

  • FWIW, I've rebuilt an array or two in my day and have generally taken them offline during the rebuild. Depending on the usage pattern of the server of course.

This has to be the worst host I have ever signed up for. Buyer beware. Clearly not a raid 10 setup.

Raid 10 should never require downtime period

Raid 10 should never require downtime period. That makes ZERO sense.

RAID 10 VPS is to be insured downtime would never happen from a disk. This MAKES NO SENSE!

This is not true in RAID 10 setup.

This company is clearly not running RAID 10.

The ENTIRE POINT OF RAID 10 IS ZERO DOWNTIME THIS MAKES NO SENSE!

    Hello @lowfront,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your voice have been heard loud and clear. I just checked and... saw that your VPS is running on the RAID 10. It will take up to 4 hours to do some maintenance.

    Is that okay with you?

    RAID Satisfaction Engineer,
    Yura.
