  • Anyone having problems with the new control panel? It's very annoying, it drops the session in a matter of seconds

You mean, it logs you out of the web interface? I didn't encounter this issue.

I opened my ticket on 23 nov. and he wrote me this reply today:

    Hello,

Just to update your VM is next in-line to be re-setup on the next node which is just competing it's setup now.

You will receive your new VM details shortly.

    Thanks,

  • Let us know how it goes. I haven't done anything yet. Still considering whether to wait to try & get a refund or to get the offered alternative VM.

The not getting the offer of the extra 1TB narks me a little, thats why I paid for multiple years in advance.

got the same message as above from @cpsd today -

    a page back ..

Just an update, my VM was created yesterday at Hetzner Falkenstein, and my ticket updated with Virtualizor credentials. WHMCS is not updated yet. No IPv6 yet.

I originally had the extra 1TB disk promo, but the new VM only had 1T instead of 2T. I asked Ashley in ticket, and he replied:

We are working on the extra 1TB and will have an
update shortly for you once we can add it.

So that's good news for anyone else who had the 2T $96/3yr special.

I'd say, have patience, Ashley is working on a solution.
If you want a refund, just ask him and be willing to wait for it -- don't chargeback; that's not cool. Anyone who had an urgent need for storage would have picked up a BF special from UltraVPS or HostHatch. Me, I'm willing to wait. At these prices, I only ever expected to use this as a second-level backup.

otherwise 3 years for the price of 2 is not a bad deal

  • I just got my new vps details.

  • I really don't see how it is possible to rent i7-3770 + 2x 3TB at hetzner for 26€/month and resell that as a 1 vcpu + 2TB for 32 USD/year.

  • ucxo said: Hetzner server auction, it seems.

If it's a stock Hetzner machine at all, I'd guess SX-61. But it could be a custom setup or colo or who knows.

Can someone help a brother out with a little TL;DR? Just went to do something with my storage VPS and it's dead as a doornail (looks like my monitoring needs a bit of a review). Do I need to raise a ticket to get it back or is Ash fixing everything up?

Nah, no rush, it was just for occasional redundant backups.

  • @cpsd said: Mine has worst i/o performance and less SWAP.

Not sure what's wrong to give you that bad IO, maybe someone else is running benchmarks… (Could theoretically also be a RAID rebuild, but there's no reason for a rebuild on a newly provisioned system…)

Swap on the other hand is entirely your own responsibility: swap is a section on your harddisk, used to swap out — hence the name — things from RAM. You can create your own partitions or files to act as swap space; that's nothing the provider has any influence on (except in container virtualisation, which this isn't).

The VPS is useless here! Argentina, ISP Telefonica. Nearly impossible to login to VIRTUALIZOR panel, or my VPS web.
Do you think it has anything to do with Hetzner??

New RAID setups will need to sync across the drives which will use up a lot of I/O.

264ms certainly shouldn't stop you from using a website without significant delay. Maybe do a MTR + ping to see if you're suffering heavy packet loss? If not then it may be something other than networking.

Today I also received my new VPS data from Ashley.

My first impression is definitely much better then what we had with the Ceph storage.
Let's relax a few days and wait until people have finished running benchmarks and transferring their Terrabytes of data to the new servers.

Big commendation to Ashley for all this work. I guess many other small providers would have just ran away with their money after the Ceph disaster.

  • I have several VPS, including a VPS that works with Virtualizor.

It was a VPS with 60 GB hard drive,

Since the failure, it does not work.

    I opened a ticket, I will wait

  • anyones new vps running dead slow?

  • I received mine today. i will do some tests and update here.
