That's like saying "If you make sure I get it no matter what then I'll do it." I'm sorry bud but I just feel like you're going at this wrong. A forum is nothing without the people on it to have the discussion, similar thing with a minecraft server. If (just as a possibility) the people on that server aren't a good match with you, but if you still get an OP because of it, you could be drawing those people away to other servers.
Personally, I wouldn't guarantee anything. But hey, its not my choice :P
I just think you could have gone through this in a better manner. Good luck to both of you guys.

Being an OP is actually more WORK. you have to deal with other users complaining, you have to deal with issues on the server, and sometimes some kid will be like "Hur hur hur I'm gonna hack you!! H@XX0R".
Yeah sure you have the virtual "power" but it gets old fast.
It's easy to deal with that (depending on the type of the server). When i used to run a survival server i would just ban anyone asking for help by an op... because they were all 13 years old kids wanting to whine about other 13 years old kids. It's super effective
Poor kid needs a power trip. Either that, or he genuinely wants to help a community, and its probably not that.

It's on a 1gb ram kvm vps and half way into swap. I restarted it.
If you don't like that one, 216.189.1.115:25565 is an option too.

It lets you run commands that you as an OP need to (e.g. kick, ban, give, etc.). What you're asking for is a direct connection to the server files, and I'd feel VERY iffy about that.
Why don't you use your VPS to run Minecraft and install plugins and mods through that? Instead of trying to change Production Minecraft Servers.
I don't know but asking for server access is really sketchy.

Do you need help setting your own server up since you have a VPS of your own? You could be OP and spawn lava and fly around doing whatever you wanted. Could even install bukkit like you wanted! Otherwise stfu.
