    Why? The hosting sector is already very profitable even at rock bottom prices. The idea behind summer hosts is that you sell a large quantity of yearly plans, close sales, wait for 2 months (so your clients cant chargeback) and simply run.

    well lets do the numbers for fun (and profit)

    €3.00 is around $4.10

    you guys sell (sold) 512 for $1.75 p/month for 512, that is $21, then 512/128 = 4, 21/4 = 5.25, so you guys were selling @ $5.25 p/year per 128mb ram. (or €3.85) and you were giving IP's with that.

    LES is €3.00 p/year for 128mb, €3.00 is around $4.10, $4.10/ 12 = 0.34 p/month per 128mb, no IPv4 cost at all and hosted on hardware from 4 - 5 generations ago i.e. a fraction of the cost of your so in reality LES is probably more profitable than the crazy deal that started this thread :)

    p.s. LES runs at a loss and was designed that way :)

    It may start to break even within another 12 months or so but with the Japan expense that may be closer to another 24 months.

    It is called human nature, while you refuse to communicate people will come up with the best fit they can with limited information.

    So... how about you take this opportunity to turn things around? even if that is just to say "look guys I really messed up, I thought I could fix it but I cant, don't expect your data it is gone, I am very sorry etc etc"

    I am 100% behind people that at least make some effort to help themselves, you are simply avoiding people when it comes to providing some actual information and this is what happens.

    Think about it, your electric goes off at home, you call the company they say, it should be on in 5 days expect an official statement later, you are understandably annoyed, you wait 5 days and they still tell you nothing and it is still off,.. would you be 'nice' about it?

    Now lets imagine that happens and your electric company calls you instead, explains that the people that provide the power lines have cut their credit and they need 10 days to fix the problem, they take responsibility and offer you a deal if you cope in the mean time while offering to assist them with moving to another company instead if you cant wait.

    Which one of those scenarios would you prefer to encounter, transparency or a brick wall of silence? neither are great news but one is easier to deal with than the other.
