CaliberNode was one of the pleasant surprises of the year. Over time I’ve found I have less and less time for managing my servers, or for figuring out what broke when things go down. The HostDzire fiasco was also a big lesson for me in keeping more frequent backups.
So when CaliberNode dropped, it seemed perfect. And voila, turns out it is. I’ve moved most of my smaller apps over completely. Right now I’m running:
Outline
Memo
Keep
Poznote
Paperless-NGX
navidrome
There are 296 apps in the catalog right now, with more added every day. I’ve seen the owner add an app within 30 minutes of someone requesting it on Discord. He’s very active there and open to suggestions and feedback.
What keeps me around is a bunch of small things that add up like the automatic updates, the choice of putting your apps behind Cloudflare or keeping them direct, upgrading resources when you need them, and automatic offsite backups. I believe one backup is free, with paid upgrades available for your really special Linux ISOs.
They also added BYOH recently. I haven’t had a chance to put it through its paces yet, but it looks like the perfect Cloudron alternative for me. Backups are your baby, but you get access to the same catalog of 296 apps.
All in all, I love it for what it is. A fire-and-forget solution that works really well!
Did not know there is Discord group. A nice product indeed.

Yes we sold out fairly quickly with the flash sale.
However we still have a deal on the main post of this thread. That is the only deal left at the moment. I encourage those to join our discord here: https://discord.gg/nFQUHB5GXu we normally post deals here first and sometimes discord exclusive deals
Why is anyone caring about this, more digshit vibe-code of a projects that havce existed open-source for last 10 years.
Who pissed in your Cheerios this morning?
Do we utilize AI? We sure do just like most companies do today. But do we blindly let AI write and manage all of our code without oversight? No we don't. We still write, review, test, and validate our code before it ever makes it into production.
Are you mad you missed the deal? Would it make you feel better if I made an exception for you?
No no, not at all, not my spec's either unfortunately or i'm arrogant enough to take it regardless but I have singapore with svr4u so i'm good.
I just don't feel your product achieves anything industry leaders haven't already with fully penetrated code-bases Pre-AI and with AI. Coolify, CapRover I could go on and they are the more basic of the existing stock.
Just seems AI is being leveraged to re-invent the wheel time and time again if I saw anything truly unique here my statement wouldnt of been made but it's not. It's pure marketing fluff for what other's have been doing for the last decade.
BYOH is not a bonus, when the project provides significant % less features than those you can simply self-host.
And if you really gonna focus on "Managed Hosting" countless of these services that leverage existing proven bases provide better pricing and availability for free-users.
At first, It not like Coolify, it managed hosting, you do nothing about underlying server, just deploy your app and forget about it. Backup, updating, patching underlying server is completely manage by provider.
Second: yes there is many PaaS provider out there but afaik none of it have price as lowend as this. Pikapod? No. I didn’t mention something like Flyio was almost double their damn price recently. Many of it charge freaking atleast 5$per month for their lowest spec not even usable for some app. Even only VPS you rent have higher price than this.
You're referring to platforms that profit from the hard work of open source developers without giving anything back?
Are we different?
First and foremost, we're a hosting provider. We are somewhat addressing a real problem the rising cost of hardware. In many cases, it's actually cheaper to deploy an application through us than it is to rent a VPS and purchase any license.
And here's something else that sets us apart. We contribute $0.50 per deployment to the developers behind the applications we offer.
There's a difference between taking advantage of open source and building a business that helps support it.
Are we the best that does it? Probably not but we certainly try.
I think that’s an unfair statement to make. Many of these projects are deliberately licensed to allow commercial use. What’s wrong with that?
If someone gives me a free bar of gold, does that mean I can’t sell it?
I respect you as a hosting provider, and this is where my judgement stops, because providing hardware as a service is a consumable necessity in the tech world, to put it plainly.
I also completely disagree that it’s “CHEAPER.” That’s a bold claim, and it dismisses the ability to self-host and the entire premise of LEB: remarkable deals.
I respect the fact that you give a kickback to the projects you use to fill your catalogue and make your application possible and useful. But that contradicts your earlier statement: “platforms that profit from the hard work of open source developers without giving anything back?”
If paying $0.50 completely negates the ability to leverage someone else’s open-source, freely licensed work, then the entire concept of open source is pointless to you unless there’s a payment involved.
I agree there’s a difference: leveraging Coolify commercially without a license to do so is bad. Using free, open-source work that’s licensed for commercial use to make money without giving money back isn’t bad. You can’t make everyone else seem bad just because you’re doing Schrödinger’s cat. They could do anything you’re not aware of; all that matters is that they’re using someone’s work with permission, no?
And more to the point, there are also plenty of full cloud-native providers with this ability too for there own platforms, they aren't trying to claim it's superior or champion it as a unique creative product this falls to only you i've seen so far.
