I’m going to use it as my first Hong Kong (HK) server to deploy some small services.
Count me in!
Any plan for black friday?
I'd run it as a small uptime-monitoring node for my sites — a cheap box in Hong Kong with that VPN bundle is honestly hard to beat. Count me in!
Maybe I will use it to set up vps monitoring
AS4658 2012 Limited / Netfront IP looks pretty good.
I'm going to use it to play some online games in Hong Kong server.
Thanks!
AS4658 What's the magic?
Thanks for hosting this offer! I plan to use this VPS for my personal VPN proxy, as the direct connection to HKIX sounds awesome for low latency. Good luck to everyone!
I plan to use this VPS for WireGuard VPN, Cloudflare Tunnel, and hosting some lightweight services. Thanks for the giveaway!
Why use your as number in your name I get it's unique but not memorable
Good price
AS4658
Wireguard VPN Server as I am from Pakistan and Hong Kong location is nice
Thanks for the giveaway!
I would use this VPS as a small Asia-Pacific networking and connectivity lab. I run my own mail infrastructure and would like to investigate how SMTP connections, TLS negotiation, and IPv4/IPv6 connectivity behave when tested from Hong Kong rather than Europe.
I would also use it to compare network routes, latency, packet loss, and path MTU towards servers in Europe and the US; test DNS resolution through different public resolvers; and measure HTTPS connectivity and transfer performance across regions.
Since the offer also includes VPN access to around 20 destinations, I would be interested in comparing latency, throughput, and routing behaviour between those VPN endpoints and the native Hong Kong connection. This would be a useful way to explore how different network paths affect real-world connectivity.
One question about AS4658: since the VPS is advertised as being right next to HKIX, does its network have direct peering at HKIX, and if so, which routes or networks are directly reachable through that peering?
Thanks for giving the community an opportunity to experiment with your network!
I would love to participate! I plan to use it to build a lightweight personal blog, as Hong Kong is a more suitable server location for users in the Asian region.
I will idle the sh*t out of this and add it to my status page to increase my disk size.
Hello I am too lazy to read the post again.
When draw and why it wasn't me?!
Signed,
Jab
I'd use it as an headscale exit node
I think I'd use the VPS for the network tools.
I will use this VPS for my personal VPN proxy,Thanks for the giveaway!
I'd use this Hong Kong VPS to learn Linux and host a small uptime monitoring service with Bark push alerts. The 1 GB RAM plan would be handy for trying lightweight self-hosted apps.
Interested! For hosting my Claude setup which needs to visit websites across the world and VPNs help with extremely strict rate limits
Check in!I’d like to get involved; a server in Hong Kong is exactly what I need. I plan to use it to host a personal blog.
I’m back again. I’d like to use it to host a static website
Great giveaway! Are the winners chosen at random? I need a server based in Hong Kong to set up a personal blog.
Good deal!
What images do you provide in your panel? What virtualizer stack and setup panel are you using?
Would run a tiny status page and a wireguard on it.
crazy value, would definitely idle it
Count me in! I'd love to use this instance to host lightweight dockerized tools, off-site config sync, and serve as an uptime checker close to HKIX. Appreciate the offer!
Planned use: I would run a small Hong Kong monitoring node on it — uptime checks plus a globalping probe — and use it as a light WireGuard endpoint. Being right next to HKIX makes it perfect for Asia-Pacific latency testing.
One question about AS4658: are there plans to add more upstreams or IPv6 peering partners in the near future?
Thanks for the giveaway!
Very good deal, and thank you for giveaway.
Obviously will use to host static website and personal wireguard vpn.
btw, @netfront do you support Alipay+ -cross-border payment?
