Never noticed APAC didnt get the 300 > 500mbit upgrade that EU / NA got a while back
Looks like it, OVH ran out of 2TB Disks, too bad.
Blessings on your good fortune
My LE-B just died today, I think it's either PSU or MB. Typically how long for ovh to replace them?
Usually they replace it pretty fast if you contact livechat, but hopefully it doesn't take too long for ya
They switched my motherboard in 26 hours, extremely surprised since last time I contacted support they were like "No."
Let's see, it's been just a few hours. Hopefully they won't notice my shiny LE-B nvme.
why the hell would they say no to it? Seems a bit weird.
My Mystery mobo died in past yr November at 17:50, I got new mobo installed at 19:30. automaticaly monitoring detected it because I didn't have time to investigate immediately.
And a few weeks ago I realised that my LE-B BIOS got password can not boot into rescue or other. They did a CMOS reset in 2 hours. At Saturday evening.
Very satisfied.
That was an unrelated ticket about them having an outage in my row and wouldn't even give me details, then suddenly my rack hadn't been affected but the server was mysteriously off during that maintenance window.
TLDR dude wouldn't even read the fucking ticket.
Thus my surprise when this was the total opposite.
"Hardware error during the re-installation of your dedicated server.
An intervention is being automatically sent to our technicians to solve this issue,
and should start a few minutes from now. You will be warned by email of its beginning and its end."
Did you contact livechat yet
Cooked what server did you try this reinstallation on
I did, the gave me no ETA, live chat + ticket
Rip
Technically "re-installation" could be physical, fingers crossed
I was wondering, why would someone drop a 8TB machine, for 17€/m in CA.
Turns out, IPMI was fucked, so best guess they replaced the mobo.
Ah dang that really sucks hopefully livechat support helps you
Funny you should say that, I JUST tested IPMI after they replaced the motherboard on mine and it fuckin' just worked on the first try.
So tell them that IPMI never worked and they should either reflash it or replace the module or motherboard.
Quick question regarding the HDD lottery. What happens if they provision a server with larger HDDs than specified in case of a drive failure? Will they "match" the other drive or always provision the one that was supposed to ship?
Asking for RAID setups here.
They'll keep the size of the old drive, they don't mind to check if you had any commercial agreement or something like this.
Short question: anyone with a tool to alert me (by mail, no telegram sh*t or the like) if a server restocks (e.g. like checkservers.ovh does but with all subsidiaries and server models configurable)? Si e.g. if I want a KS-5 with 32GB and 450GB NVMe in DC X (and that might be Vint Hill)?
Or do I have to vibe code based on @fredo1664 perfect api data fetching/ordering code base?
You can write your own bot.
There are a few out there but can’t remember any of them 😂😂
Yes for sure but it is stupid to do this if a tool is out there already - that is just useless token/power consumption (or even worse: brain or time consumption for a tool used once in months...).
Hm I still remember e.g. ovh.hos7.com/new which is great to get the current state but does not have alerting like e.g. checkservers.ovh does. But checkservers.ovh misses a lot that is in the catalogue, e.g. US servers or Asia/Sydney ones.
My tool does it, it can send emails.
Ups, I'm too much in lazy saturday mode today. Should have looked first before posting...
I can post a how-to guide later but for the moment i'm in the middle of a raclette party!
