No, this is absolutely illegal in EU, SG, AU, UK and many other places if the full amount is reversed. Partially yes but only trasaction fee, no %.

    What a s**t show...

Surely they could have at least tried to raise their pricing for the more premium locations (similar to how @hosthatch do it) before closing the entire location...

Well, if they had done that, I think at least a 100% price increase would have happened.
And we all know how the people react after that. I can easily imagine multiple LET threads criticizing them. Customers don't really give a shit. They will always criticize a host if they don't like something. What happened on the company side really doesn't matter.

Can we expect any refugee deals in Tokyo?

I dont know what refugee deals means, do you mean $12/year :D

    Similar offer in APAC
    2c/4g/40gb/1.5T
    $60/3 year

It would make their product lineup less uniform (pricing). So, extra headache for ticketing team.

Small price to pay (training staff) to keep customers?

You have purchased dollartree/dollar general or daiso/seria, right? Isocost helps streamlined the product knowledge required for an agent. So, they don't have to memorize hundreds of SKUs

@hosthatch are you able to throw a lifeline and match invoices for services that are about to be dropped with GC?

We can't really offer anything due to the current hardware prices, but sorry to see this happen and genuinely wish everyone affected the best.

  • Keep the same rate with several choise,it is already very good.

Well, I got charged it when they processed the refund.

I took what I could since I already had credit on my account I'd added for my phx storage server (host server hw died) and .au renewal (whole site died)

Shame to see a provider drop Australia but good that they're trying to do right by customers. Sometimes you need to make the difficult choices.

Operating in AU isn't easy. Low population, high prices (relatively).

We have this; can't go below this. given the hardware prices, this hardware is costly.

Yabs Report - JP Cloud VPS Special #1

  • Updated closure date for Sydney now - November 6th...

    Dear ,
This is a final reminder regarding the discontinuation of the GreenCloud Australia (AU) location.

In our previous notices, we provided an option for VPS services expiring on or before December 31, 2026 to remain in the Australia location until their current expiration date.
Due to an updated datacenter decommissioning schedule, we are unfortunately no longer able to keep these services in the Australia location until expiration. We sincerely apologize for this change and any inconvenience it may cause.
All remaining VPS services will therefore need to be either migrated out of the Australia location or cancelled. The final decommissioning and migration process is scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 1:00 AM SGT.
    Please review the following options:
    1. Migrate to another GreenCloud location + 1 FREE month
You may let us know your preferred GreenCloud location, and we will check its availability and compatibility with your current VPS plan.
Once confirmed, we will assist with the migration and add one additional month of service free of charge.
Please note that Premium locations/plans are not eligible for this relocation offer. Destination availability may vary depending on your current VPS plan and available resources.
    2. Cancel and receive a prorated refund
If you prefer not to relocate your VPS, we can provide a prorated refund for the remaining unused service period via one of the following methods:
    • GreenCloud Account Credit
    • Original Payment Method, where supported
    • PayPal
    Action Required – Deadline: November 6, 2026
Please contact our Support Team no later than 11:59 PM SGT on November 6, 2026 if you would like to select a preferred migration location or request a prorated refund.
If we do not receive a response by the deadline, we will automatically proceed with migrating your VPS to Singapore (DC1 or DC2, based on resource availability) as part of the Australia location closure.
If you have already contacted us and confirmed your migration or refund option, please disregard this notice.
We apologize again for the change from our previous schedule and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we complete the closure of our Australia location.
    Sincerely,
    The GreenCloud Team

We can't really offer anything due to the current hardware prices, but sorry to see this happen and genuinely wish everyone affected the best.

How are support times these days? I'm comfortable with the current listed pricing, just concerned of response time.

Support time of GC is good. I rarely need support, all ticket I created have short response time like some hour, and they directly response to problem, not like many provider just response with pre-made or automatic answer.
Funny thing, I have transfer ticket with them got resolve in just 2 minutes :lmao: look like someone just sit and wait me to click submit my message

This was a question for @hosthatch not GC. No need for GC support anymore with no remaining services with them

The (very few) times I've had to deal with HostHatch support I got a response within 12 hours notwithstanding that I'm on promo (and therefore deprioritized) plans. I like to think that most support delays (except dartnode, that's a different story but I still use their services) are attributable to the manner in which you asked.

If you are professional, polite, get to the damn point and give sufficient information in the first ticket, usually things go well and quickly.

Eh, just as you know: Australia is a continent, not an island.

I'm going to report you to the eSafety Commissioner for misgendering Australia and causing some Kangaroos serious mental harm because, if Australia identifies as an island, it can claim to be the biggest island in the world, but if Australia is misgendered as a continent, then it is only the smallest continent. And that's very bad for Kangaroo epeen (ergo serious mental harm).

Thanks heaps! I've asked them a couple of times now and have just been ghosted. Don't find it unrealistic to request the average support response time for non-promo plans

  • In the past, GC had some additional premiums added to certain locations. I wonder why they couldn't do that?

I guess the demand just isn't there for AU?

I honestly don't see the point in tooting our own horn, so its better for everyone if other customers answer that question. We do not have any issues with our support on our standard plans in general.
