Australia costs too much, high inflation, interests rate, low wage increasing....
    Isolated island....

    and stupid policies

It must be better than India :D. India sucks for hosting businesses currently. The cybercrime department really causes trouble. They don't know how to handle the case and simply blame the provider. If they can't catch the culprit, they will bully the provider instead.

yeah that's ridiculous we are now paying +4% for a coffee to save maybe 1-2% surcharge

i don't even understand how it could work and they're so proud of this.

    I think my daily piccolo costs $3.50 + 15c surcharge = $3.75.
Today i paid $4.20 at the same cafe.
    Thanks Albo ya knob

This changed zero from 2010. They will never learn. And every Indian cop has an ego complex.

Yeah, premium in terms of cost :)

  • Damn this is sad :'( , I really liked my GreenCloud Australia VDS-1.

  • Got the same email :'( Now looking for refuge deals...please

  • I'm assuming they're going to move the hardware to a different DC, but I'm really curious as to whether moving the hardware still ends up cheaper than continuing to provide service. Or maybe they'll sell it in Australia rather than moving it. Hmm.

The email seems to imply that we can request to move the VPS to any location so maybe I'll use this as an opportunity to get a VPS in Vietnam.

@HostDZire said: BTW, what kind of price did they use to offer for AU?

Surprisingly they were the same price as other locations. During Black Friday they had a flash sale with 2 EPYC Milan cores + 4 GB RAM + 22GB storage + 1.5TB monthly traffic for $22/year or $60 / 3 years. Would have still been a good deal at 3x the price.

  • RIP, no Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh transfers allowed.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, Hanoi is not available for this migration.

The available locations for this plan are:

    Singapore
    Canada
    Germany
Japan – Tokyo / Tokyo SoftBank
    Hong Kong
United States – Los Angeles, Virginia, Illinois, or Utah

Please let us know which location you prefer, and we will proceed with the migration.

That's because they closed HCM a while ago and forced me to migrate out.

  • Maybe I'll transfer to Canada... The only other system I have in Canada is an OVH NAT VPS with Gullo

  • What a s**t show...

Surely they could have at least tried to raise their pricing for the more premium locations (similar to how @hosthatch do it) before closing the entire location...

Pretty sure they checked all options.
Guess to big of a price hike, other DC's not an option.
Easiest for them, discontinue and sell off the hardware.
And leave this bloody island alone.
    I don't blame them.

It would make their product lineup less uniform (pricing). So, extra headache for ticketing team.

  • @hosthatch are you able to throw a lifeline and match invoices for services that are about to be dropped with GC?

Small price to pay (training staff) to keep customers?

Well, if they had done that, I think at least a 100% price increase would have happened.
And we all know how the people react after that. I can easily imagine multiple LET threads criticizing them. Customers don't really give a shit. They will always criticize a host if they don't like something. What happened on the company side really doesn't matter.
