Most of people here are severely retarded, datacenter literally exploded.
How can you blame the provider for this?

Has anyone received a response regarding dedicated servers?

Forget about it, my friend, don't get your hopes up. You should have already started buying a new server.

I had already set up my new servers, but if my old backups can be restored, why not?

its not about server we have data there updated data which we need as soon as possible

    No backup == no worth

It was a learning experience for those of us who went through something like this for the first time. Unfortunately, we didn’t have our own backups. We weren’t waiting because of the low price we paid for the server; we were waiting in the hope of recovering our backups.

We have said from time to time to get a proper backup (and rehearse data recovery from time to time)
If you have monthly backup that means you are ready to lose 1 month of content. Same with daily or hourly backup. And what matter most is you have to get backup on secondary site, ideally on different provider and region. It's better if you have local copy.
So, if a climate change activist firehose the server, backup battery spontaneously combust, massive earthquake strike, datacenter getting droned, direct hit by tactical nuke, you could recover your data

  • Wow, this place is crawling with data center managers and "inspectors"—what on earth are we supposed to do with 100 TB of storage? So, cut the useless advice; this is about storage servers. In this context, backups and the like definitely aren't useless, so spare us the irrelevant examples. Your tips are useless to us—this isn't about money, it's about the data! Finally get that through your heads.

Redownload the torrents you nutbar. Holy shit. No one puts a single copy of their 100TB worth of data in an active warzone unless they're selling pirated content. The only other option is something worse, and in that case, you're really not welcome here.

It’s none of your damn business what I host on the servers. If you don’t have anything meaningful to contribute, then don’t spam the thread.

If your data is worth so much to you, you can always go there and fetch it.

Porn is illegal in Ukraine. Gambling also, and CP, Not much left that needs bulletproof hosting.

I'm not a "data center manger" or an "inspector", I'm just a "competent custodian of my own data" and you should have had another 100TB of storage as a cold-storage backup if the data was important. And if money is no object for you then you have absolutely no excuse for not having it backed up offsite FFS!

The worst part about what's happening in this thread and I get that it's not the official one, there's another thread where VSYS said they'd keep us updated, but that thread is dead is that so many people are shitting on VSYS and the users who didn't back up their data. They have a point about the backups, but VSYS remaining completely silent only proves those users right.

Whatever anyone hosted on their servers is their own business; they sold offshore servers for a reason. If your server wasn't offshore, I don't get why you're even chiming in. If they sold them, it's because there was demand. Every day I'm losing more hope in VSYS's service. They say nothing, just create threads on their site that never get updated. I hope this gets resolved. Expecting it "soon" is probably asking for too much at this point, but at least let it get resolved eventually. Most of us just want them to hand over the data if, like they said, most of it wasn't lost. Give us the data for the active ones, tell us which ones were lost we just want updates and information.

On September 23, two Russian missile strikes, hours apart, took down both of our Kyiv data centers. Nine days later, our virtual services are back, and our dedicated servers have started coming back to life.

Here’s how we got here, and what comes next.

    The road so far
September 23: both Kyiv data centers are hit. Our team starts working to reach the equipment and restore services.
September 25: most virtual services are already running again in a new secure facility in Ukraine.
September 28: all VPS are fully restored.
October 1: hosting is back online.
October 2: the first dedicated servers are being restored in the new facility.
    Virtual services: almost there
Instead of waiting for the damaged facilities to reopen, we rebuilt our virtual infrastructure in a new secure facility in Ukraine. VPS and hosting are fully back. Xtream UI Panel Cloud is the last piece still in progress, and it’s expected to be back online soon.

Dedicated servers: two paths to recovery
Dedicated servers are a different kind of challenge. They aren’t software we can redeploy: they’re physical machines, and each one has to be handled by hand. Our dedicated fleet was split between the two facilities, so recovery follows two paths.

Servers with intact hardware are being moved to our new secure facility in Ukraine. The first of them are already being restored, and we’re contacting customers individually as each server becomes ready.
Servers that may have been exposed to water have been retrieved and are on their way to technical inspection. Here, patience protects your data: powering on a drive before it’s inspected could damage it. There is no confirmed data loss at this point, and the condition of each server’s drives will be known once its inspection is complete.
    Replacement servers
At the request of some customers, we’ve also moved their services to replacement servers in our other locations while their original servers go through recovery. Because of this, some server configurations in our other locations are temporarily out of stock. We’re expecting new hardware deliveries and plan to restock them within 1–2 weeks.

    Your data
For dedicated servers still waiting their turn, we’re working on a way to let you copy your data before full restoration. Realistically, this will take at least a few weeks. When it’s ready, we’ll come to you directly, so there’s no need to open a ticket about it.

    Your services at a glance
Every affected service now has its own status in your client area, updated as recovery moves forward. It’s the fastest way to see where your service stands.

Coming Back Stronger: Proud of Our Team, Grateful to Our Customers
Nine days ago, we lost both of our Kyiv data centers in a single day. Most companies don’t come back from something like that quickly. We did.

Within days, our team rebuilt our virtual infrastructure in a new facility. Engineers reached the equipment as soon as it was safe, moved what could be moved, and brought services back one by one. Our support team stayed with our customers every hour of it. Nobody on our team asked whether this was possible. Everyone simply did what had to be done.

We’re proud of our team. And we’re just as proud of our customers.

Many of you stood by us when it would have been easier to leave. You wrote to ask whether our team was safe. You supported us in your tickets, on forums and in comments. You gave us your patience and your trust when we needed them most. That’s what made the difference, and we’ll never take it for granted.

This incident has tested VSYS Host like nothing before. And we’re coming out of it stronger: with a new secure facility, a team that has proven what it can do, and customers who have shown us what real partnership means.

We’ll keep going until every affected service is back. Thank you for being with us.

Just saw their update that the first dedicated servers are starting to come back. Has anyone here with hardware-intact dedicated servers actually had theirs restored yet, or are you still waiting?
