I’m assuming a bomb probably dropped on the data center. WTF!

Close, it was a drone strike.

And what weapons did the drone strike with? Yeah, probably bombs.

The drone actually deployed a small team of ninjas that systematically dismantled the computers.

Wow, this place is crawling with data center managers and "inspectors"—what on earth are we supposed to do with 100 TB of storage? So, cut the useless advice; this is about storage servers. In this context, backups and the like definitely aren't useless, so spare us the irrelevant examples. Your tips are useless to us—this isn't about money, it's about the data! Finally get that through your heads.

Storing 100 TB in a war zone? Bold strategy.
Any IT guy with even 1% of a brain cell would pick literally anywhere else.
I wouldn't use Ukraine as a reverse proxy, let alone trust it with my data lol

Backup, my friend, backup. Not easy with 100TB ya but there are other reasons why people use Ukraine for hosting.

  • Didn't get the Reilly reference, but I lol'd as it was unexpected.

Does anyone have any updates about your servers being brought back online bit by bit? Is anyone's dedicated server already back up and running?

  • no update

Some people in the other thread are saying their servers are online. They're moving heavy metal boxes around, not just bits through fiber-optics - expect it to take a while. If yours is critical, then don't wait - enact your disaster recovery plan now - switch to your backup server, and when your original server is back (could be weeks) that becomes your new backup server.
