SolidVPS - 22.8% Price Increases Disclaimer on Dedi (after 6 months of service)

- SolidVPS - 22.8% Price Increases Disclaimer (above email received on 30 September 2026)
While this is not unreasonable due to cost increases across industry/life, I find the timing and support response needing improvements, (that said overall I have been happy and have had no major issues), it is sad as a customer to see:
1. a “deal” be changed after just 6 months of service when listing “Price is locked for as long as the service remains active”.
2. a missing IPMI feature be told it will be soon and never be delivered.
3. a large scale outage that had no communication with customers until restored 22 hours later with “7 day credit” promised and not honored.

Notice: Again, this is not to bash or hate on SolidVPS; overall they have provided a very good service and I have only had to open one ticket to have a custom ISO installed at the start and they completed it quickly and was not going to worry about the missing 7 day credit go until todays price change email.
Takeaway: Just wanted to share (as I am most likely not the only one here impacted); however, at the moment I will continue with SolidVPS even with this price raise (maybe try a support ticket to see if this was just an oversight of their price lock promise) for now, but if any other providers have better deals on a Florida, USA (or southern) dedicated server am in the market for a new Low End Deal. Currently have “Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 / 32GB RAM / 240GB SSD / 1 Ipv4 / 1Gbps Unmetered / $26.95/mo (my usage is extremely light, but I do like to have room for overhead)”
If @SolidVPS views this: My feedback is to please be more mindful of delivering/honoring statements shared with customers. Example,
- revoking promised same price forever “Price is locked for as long as the service remains active”.
- missing IPMI features “available soon”.
- missing outage credit “Credits will be processed automatically and applied directly to affected services within 3-5 business days following full service restoration”).

For what is it is worth, I was able to get Gigabyte IPMI after sending a support ticket in a month or two back. They had to set it up first.
blame these guys

Honestly, not sure what's wrong with people. Why did you post this then?
I’ve been watching a lot of these posts about SolidVPS lately. I normally don’t like getting involved in LET drama and rarely post, but I wanted to give my 2 cents as someone who has actually been with these guys since 2014.
In 12 years with SolidVPS, I’ve seen them raise prices only twice. Obviously nobody likes a price increase, including me, but compared to my experience with other providers, I don’t think that’s unreasonable.
I have services with other providers too, and some of them have increased my prices 5–6 times over the years. People have to be realistic about this stuff. They’re a tech company operating in the same market as everyone else. A 20% increase might sound big when you only look at the percentage, but you also have to look at the actual dollar amount and what has happened to hardware prices.
I tried upgrading my NVMe drives just last week. Finding anything decent below $200 is getting difficult, and if you start looking at higher-end 2TB or 4TB NVMe drives, you can easily be paying 2–3x that depending on what you buy. Hardware in general is simply not priced the way it was years ago.
If you have a server that was $10 and they increase it to $12, yes, technically that's a 20% increase. But you're talking about a $2 increase on a server that was already extremely cheap. Personally, I think the more important question is whether $12 is still a reasonable price for that server in today's market.
I think LET folks should be fair about this. Customers absolutely have the right to complain about an increase or move somewhere else if they can find a better deal. At the same time, providers have increasing hardware, power, network and operating costs just like every other business.
Just my 2 cents from a long-term customer.
Because feedback is how companies identify issues and improve. I still standby that they were a good service and did not have an issue with the cost - they just need to improve honestly with post. My grievance was by the surprise of a price locked commitment being revoked within a few months.
Anyways, maybe I was in the wrong for posting here - as they terminated my service renewal as a result.
I'm a customer, but don't have a dedi, so these increases don't impact me.
I think the problem most people are going to have is that the deal they bought was "price locked" for as long as they keep the service active, and now they are getting a notice of the price not being locked, some before their first renewal. The rampocalypse was well under way before these dedis were sold and the price lock promise was made. This sort of thing really erodes trust.
SolidVPS has a fantastic network. Now that they've done price increases this year on both VPS and dedi deals, I hope they can move forward in a better position and keep providing a great service. However, I'm a bit concerned that this isn't the last time, and they will attempt to force customers into the new pooled model that they recently announced.
