First it was electricity to blame in order to increase price. Now it is llm. Does anyone think that price will fall down after llm crash or ram supply re-stock? :)

Greed and only greed drives this. Do not be apathic, vote with your wallet.

The most laughable part is netcup ceo promises for price increase:

“ At netcup, we will use this time well and are already working on the following:

We are improving our internal processes so that we can offer you an even better customer experience in the future.
We will offer you additional products and services. We will announce more about this at our community event in about a month.
We will also improve our code base and offer you better panels, although this is still in the works.
There will be no price promotions like Black Friday in this market situation.”

So all this was not a priority before so called “rampocalypse”.

Can’t be there any template for price increase messages? Take a look at ovh, hetzner or leaseweb. Simple: absorb increase or gtfo.

You should open up a business and sell to LET with fair practices, show these evil companies the right way to do things.

The issue is social anxious people feel exceptionally comfortable on the Internet and this is why they are here.

Ticket took 7 days to respond.

    Hotline?

"Our support hotline is temporarily unavailable. Due to an increased volume of support requests, there may also be delays in processing incoming inquiries. In some cases, you may therefore receive a response later than usual. Our support team is already working hard to address all issues as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience."

And it’s been like this for a month. Apparently, the price hikes are still too small to afford some support staff.

@oloke said: - In addition, we are reducing the disk storage. This is based on a prior analysis of actual disk usage.

If they're reducing how much storage is allotted to each VPS because actual disk usage is low, why don't they use thin provisioning?

I also suspect that we need more fine-grained, low-overhead memory ballooning that only releases genuinely free (not just reclaimable) memory back to the host, and which doesn't reduce the reported amount of memory. As long as it can both release and re-acquire pages fast, it would drastically reduce the amount of memory the host actually needs.

  • I guess I'm never giving up my 2 netcup VPS. It is what is is with this market...really wild

  • And Netcup Austria DC is totally down third time within last two months. Control panel also down.

  • OMG

  • Unfortunately. That's why I'm looking for vps1000 g12 contract for transfer

  • I'm new to Netcup, like 7 days in and got hit with that recent 26min outage, a bit unnerving but I did notice this particular issue and last 3 is IPv4 so I setup my Cloudflare to load balance between IPv4 and IPv6. It might get me through another one if the have it. I hope they get stable soon, otherwise my server runs great.

    Edit:
    Cock!

    Wrong thread.

    Moved to: link

  • Is this going to affect Piko? I see for new sales it's already €1/m more than what I'm paying

All this is expected when a single 64GB DDR5 DIMM literally costs between 2-3K$, we can't blame netcup for raising rates but hyperscalers.

  • it seems their support has gotten worse, had a server outage and it's been like three days and my ticket has not been responded to, thankfully my server came back, but I'm kind of worried now if it doesn't next time. my server is in Virginia if that matters.

  • explain it, it says there's a support line is experiencing more request for some reason, their 24 seven emergency line appears to be unavailable as well

A few day ago they were 8 days behind with support tickets.

Their CEO said they was working on a solution to bring the long support response time down.

  • I think what they should do is that they should bring back like G 11 or something and start offering that for a cheaper price, because I guarantee you majority of people don't need the latest and greatest CPU and the fastest ram, etc.

I don't think it makes economical sense to invest into the hardware that is EOL with most of the OEM's already. It's even harder to get DDR4 machines from used market as is in bulk.

It will take them 16-24 months to writeoff their hardware that is already old and in 24 months who knows what will happen given the current market.

  • so glad i got my root server last year

    From reading:

    • reducing disk is a ToS violation, you have a refund right
    • tos definitely covers this debacle, Alex has the best lawyer
  • I hope they improve their panel soon, because the accessibility for screen reader users, like myself is not very great at the moment
