OVH Billing System Down - Dedicated Server Offline
Hello,
OVH's payment system appears to be having issues, and my dedicated server has expired. Their billing system is currently returning: "Error 504: Backend unavailable."
Does anyone know of a way to get the server back online quickly? It has been down for several hours, and OVH has not responded to my tickets or posted any notice about maintenance or billing system issues.
This is a critical server, so any suggestions on how to resolve or escalate this faster would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Why wait 2 weeks if its critical server
The chat, perhaps.
Good thing you have a backup of your critical server, that you can just spin up somewhere else... right? Right....?
Has OVH replied to you yet? If so, when did they reply, and did they give you an estimated time for getting the server back online?
I had daily backups set up, but guess what... they were only being stored on the same server. Genius move
Opened their live chat and waited about 20 minutes for an agent. In the end, the system kicked me out and said all agents were busy. Great support... Have a good day. lol
Still no replies to my tickets. At this point, I’ve officially escalated the issue to God

Renew via APi?
I’ve never tried their API, but I’ll give it a go.
If their entire billing server is down, though, I don’t think the API will help much.
Thanks for the info.
Billing seems to work on my end. If it’s a critical server, why is auto-billing disabled?
This issue started the day before yesterday and still hadn’t been resolved as of yesterday. Bulk renewals result in an error, while renewing services individually works fine.
50:50 votes for ovh support out of 20 count. i am impressed
Unfortunately, individual renewals are also returning a “504: Backend Unavailable” error.
I faced the issue before, some servers went down for a few days as I couldn't made payment for renewal at all.
I would suggest to renew a few days before your expiry even if the services renewal dates are different (there's an option to adjust the date too).
That’s a tough situation, especially for a critical server.
While you’re waiting for OVH to resolve it, having a backup option ready might be worth considering in case the downtime continues.
If you end up needing a temporary or replacement dedicated server, we’re CubePath and have bare metal in Barcelona, Miami and Houston. Happy to check what we have available if it helps.
At OVH pricing?
Go to My Orders page, you will see a bunch of unpaid orders there. Should be possible to open one of these and continue the payment process, it does not have the same 504 for some reason. Click on the red "Payment not received" and it will show a page with "You have generated a purchase order without paying for it." - there is a link on "purchase order" that you can use.
Depends on the config 😉 What are you looking for? We might surprise you.
Your bare metal prices definitely did surprise me...not in a good way
The VPS prices almost gave me a heart attack
