At least the old team behind nc seems to do it better with their spaceship endeavor.

yea at least their site still online. They are retweeting the Namecheap CEO tweets so there are some services down I'm guessing on Spaceship side. The comments on those tweets...

insane to me how companies like namecheap and namesilo seemingly have absolutely 0 redundancy and also 0 disaster recovery measures when a singular DC is down

It's always funny when some crackhead operations are setup better

  • Find it odd no status page

Even the 22k guy has one

can confirm portal is back online but it is quite slow at the moment

this is an improvement but i do see that my servers remain offline which explains why i can't ssh into it

anyways im sure the folks at 1gservers are working hard to rectify the situation.

btw the lessons from OVH Strasbourg still holds, always back your stuff up

Getting better communication about this outage from LET than from the vendor. Sad.

It may be surprising, but it can be more efficient to cool IT equipment in a dry and hot environment. Compared with a cold and wet location, such as New York City, Seattle & Chicago, evaporative cooling can be utilized without the worry about compressors freezing and failing due to high humidity.

Insane that 1gservers has no official statement on this, and we're here chatting away on lowendtalk for support.

Their mail server is up now again. But please be kind.

(and you might even get a one-to-many comm by mail if their mail server is working again).

But it won't help to overload them with tickets/support mails.

Hey it's true. Try living in Florida then live in Texas.

    1gservers says:

We are currently aware of a service disruption affecting multiple systems at our third-party data center facility.

The facility is currently experiencing infrastructure issues that have resulted in multiple power circuits going offline, impacting a number of servers and network equipment.

The data center operators are actively working with their vendors to restore normal facility operations as quickly as possible.

Our team is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with the data center operators.
As facility infrastructure is restored, our team will work to bring affected systems back online and verify normal service operation as quickly as possible.

We understand the impact that an outage like this can have and appreciate your patience while the issue is being addressed.

We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available and will work to restore access to all affected services as quickly as possible.

Uptime might lower than 99.0% this month, do they have any compensation measure on SLA?

We are working on bringing stuff online. PNAP is mitigating the issue on their end. We are mitigating optics that have failed that need replacement.

server come up, server go off, server come up, server go off :(

Can’t imagine how stressful it would be, thank you for the update!

looks like there is no IPMS/console available so im still locked out can't ssh

  • thanethane Member

80% restored here, but then again servers have been coming up and then going down intermittently so I'm not sure if it's "stable" yet or not...

  • szarkaszarka Member

Still not even a ping for me.

Sometimes things like this happen, unfortunately. Look at the OVH fire many years ago, everything gone. Be glad it's just a cooling problem. Could have been way worse.

I've known a guy who had servers for years at 1Gservers, never had a problem. And this one time they've got an outage almost everyone who got a server there is getting cray cray lmao. Be patient, this can happen at any datacenter/provider.

Sorry but I just had to say this. We've all been very lucky with providers with barely any downtime.

Yes, this can happen at any DC, but the issue is with how the outage was handled by 1GServers. Very little transparency as to what the plan is on recovery, damage done etc. For many of us that run our business of 1GServers, the lack of communication is the problem. I for one will be finding alternate providers due to the silence.

This isn't personal, it's business -- and it shouldn't be handled this way.
