velox is just meh.. at first i thought they were just angry or unlucky or both.. then my server got disabled months before expiry. and now i am being billed triple for the nonexistent services. i guess these sorry ass people decided to become gaping assholes and are now simply scammers. @VeloxMedia = simply the worst.

Is it really Eric though? That new guy sounded very different from how Eric sounded when he ban evaded in here.
I'm 50/50 on it. He had a very Eric vibe to me. Especially the fact that he picked the points he wanted to respond to and ignored the others. The fact he said their panel had been going in and out when it was only down for a couple of hours days later kinda proves to me he wasn't a customer. He also pretty clearly didn't understand that some of their PoPs are their own hardware and some are Leaseweb. So he had some ulterior motive, and Eric continually does similar bullshit. I have to assume that whatever mod banned him had some sort of indication that it was a previously banned user, as they didn't really do anything ban worthy.

Am I 100% sure? No. However, I got the same vibe the last number of posts he made.
First eyebrow from me was raised when it was about "his VPSes used for development" but his account is called "dedigod".
Some like to attribute who-knows-what and then some to a certain person. I however prefer to enjoy my nice little VPS from @VeloxMedia which is running fine and without interruption since I rebooted it (months ago).
FWIW I do not think that dedigod is an Eric alt.

In fairness, there's nothing technically wrong with the services, just the owner's behavior and actions. While we may disagree with @jsg's judge of character, I see no reason whatsoever to doubt his technical reviews.
I'm suggesting that they would take compensation for favorable reviews, not questioning their ability to actually perform the reviews. There is a mountain of evidence that Velo has scammed people on multiple occasions. Not just before Eric, but after. This is a community and they are spitting in the faces of all members by continuing to act as if Velo is a place where someone should spend their money.

I never took any kind of payment for a review, let alone to make it favourable. The only cases for which I got compensated were private "internal" benchmarks for a provider e.g. to test out and check a new node type.
Quite the contrary actually I paid for a VPS to benchmark and review it in quite a few cases.
Oh, and as some particularly idiotic users didn't get it, I'll lay it out clear as glass: I'm not reviewing persons, I'm reviewing products! And based on gathered data, not on gut feeling.
@VeloxMedia servers were not good at all, except the high resources but relatively cheap, I've been benchmarking all of my servers every now and then, and Velox servers downed 3 seconds every 30 seconds
I mean, can you really ignore a person‘s temperament and how they act in general when you do a review? With VMs you trust them with all your data as he could easily access your data inside the VM by mounting the volume or other ways.
Not only can I ignore a person's (provider's) temperament, I'm actually doing it - that's the whole point of gathering performance data!
But you are correct, we all trust them with our data, so a provider's personality. temperament, etc are of some importance, but I happen to review products and not persons.
A few main (among quite a few others) reasons being that I hardly know most providers personally, so on which basis should I evaluate them? But I know the business and operations well enough to know that most of them hardly couldn't find the time to spy and eavesdrop on us even if they were bad tempered. And I know that, insofar as that is a danger, it's one related to entirely different players like nsa, cia, and criminals. Finally I know that my data simply are not important and/or valuable enough to eavesdrop on or steal (the data that might be, never even reach an outside server, let alone be stored on one).
Whatever, my point stands: I'm not reviewing persons but products.
I get what you are trying to say and it somewhat makes sense if you only focus on the performance part. Tho I don't agree with you 100% as the support and with that also how the people act behind the scenes are part of the "product" / service. You talk about reviewing a product, but you didn't buy a product, you bought a service, there is a difference.
Again I see where you are coming from, but all I'm saying is, that everyone should always do their research and evaluate if they trust a provider with their data.
