I'm still looking to sell dinodildos.com
Thanks. It's all been so insane I must have suppressed the memory
The domain or the inventory?
And if it's the inventory, is it new or used? Just asking for a friend.
The domain, inventory sold out surprisingly quickly. I never expected Dinos to have such kinky sexual needs.
What's the status on this? I hear deadpool but looks like they're alive?
Deadpool is an exaggeration. But effectively all LET customers have been kicked off without refund anyway.
Their website looks legit. Another post on here said most LET providers don't have RAID or backups and they seem to have everything.
Anyone have services with them?
A lot of providers here use RAID. And the problem with VeloxMedia isn't that they're amateurs but that they kicked people off without refund and changed the terms of the contract unilaterally. For example, people who paid for 3 year terms were suddenly told they had to pay what amounts to an extortion fee or they'd lose their VPSes.
I do have a service with them, yes. I'm one of the few people who didn't get their service cancelled. The service quality itself is fine, but I can't feel comfortable because I know that, at any moment, the owner might just cancel it on me.
Not all, as example both my VPSs online and working, but it's just idlers without data and services, because it could be halted at any moment, by the new owner. Schrödinger's VPSs
yo eric
@forest @x1arch what host do you recommend instead?
I keep looking on here but every host seems to be incompetent. Host-C is a complete lie, Dedirock doesn't run RAID. Dozens deadpool.
Who has actual stable storage that's clustered and redundant, full N+1 infrastructure?
@oloke
FYI. They bumped up the renewal prices 3x for my server so please check your renewal rates, especially if you have your card details on stored with them. No point in continuing with them at those prices.
(emphasis mine)
Why would they, except for some serious TOS/AUP violation (highly unlikely with you I guess)?
Also, let's be realistic and fair. Some people around here paint it as if @VeloxMedia rolled the dice every week, first on which servers to potentially terminate and then on the new price.
That's not how it really works! Based on what could be seen
- it was a single and relatively short "rage phase" (and not without reason)
- the price hikes came announced in advance, soon (back then) and short, and seem to have been painful but not extortionist
Plus we got and get something for the price!
In other words - and sorry if that hurts - they actually did what they had announced early on, they turned what once was a shitty untenable operation into a solid and reliable hosting operation. And they adapted prices to a level that makes the operation sustainable.
Now, one may like that or not and, yes, it came surprising, but that wasn't their choice but rather the result created by the former owner.
(Not only) my VPS runs fine and smooth without a single reboot since back then. And so far they even did honour the deal I made with the former owner!
What's your use case?
I wanted to know the use case...
Banned again @marventanire
This fucking clown is comical at this point. Also highly enjoy that he's now taken to attacking @host_c as though that's somehow going to help his cause.
He is probably looking for an AWS replacement at 1USD/ MO.
Tho he might be right.... ( sarcastic) I think it is time to upgrade to vMware and go back to FC and make the services x200 in price.... Need to sleep on this a bit

personally I'm waiting to see what @jsg has to say about the eric attacks on @host_c
Nothing because I didn't even know about those. Care to point me at the comment(s)?
Assuming @marventanire is Eric, probably this:
Bumping the renewal price is fine imo, especially as some of the pre-buyout sales were unsustainable, but only if done at the end of the renewal period, not in the middle.
I believe it is not fine, when price increase 3x times, while on promo it it was described as a recurring. It's a scam, DeluxHost made do the same, when I bought they VPS it was recurring, but in the end the prices was rise and only a few clients got recurring for second year, but Delux increase 10-30%, not 300+%, like Velox.
Hi Eric. Please tag me next time if you really wanna know...
Oh, yeah if it's advertised as recurring then that's different.
and the two posts in the host-c thread, yeah.
