Been working on getting the old java ipmi working in modern browsers and am happy with the results so far on my ks-c
Kool. Interested to know how is the ipmi thing coming along for you?
updated my IMG link in previous post
just a vibecoded project but feel free to lookup ecovibe public repo on github if you want to play.
On my KS-C i had IPMI earlier this year I used it, but since about 6 months back it been listed as not available for this server

AI context The inflation of computer components has continued since my last tweet in February. Basically, it's the AI that needs GPUs, which themselves need RAM.
The 3 global RAM suppliers have reconfigured their factories to produce a very profitable RAM (HBM) at the expense of standard RAM (DDR4/DDR5). This month, in June 2026, we pay the RAM 6× the price we paid in June 2025.
We already know that it will be at ×9 in September 2026, while the forecast for early 2027 is at ×12!? In addition to this ×12 in 16 months on RAM, ×7 on NVMe disks and ×3.5 on HDD drives, we mean that price increases will also affect chips - and therefore CPUs, motherboards and network cards - from +15 to 20%... for now.
Our offers The main concern we want to avoid is to run out of parts and not be able to deliver the Cloud to you. Especially since many of you are new customers who realize that computer equipment is overpriced, or have no certainty of having it at the right time. And so you switch to the Cloud.
As a reminder, for some of the existing customers and new orders, we reviewed the prices of our offers in April. We have also successfully anticipated the June 2026 increases, so we do not have to change our prices until September 2026. On the other hand, as prices continue to rise, we will not be able to maintain our current prices beyond September 2026. In the same way as in April, we will increase prices for our existing customers and new orders at the end of August 2026, for the last two generations of each range (the current and previous generation) - for example Advance Gen4 and Gen3, Scale Gen3 and Gen2. No customer from previous ranges (Gen-2) will be impacted, as in April - for example Kimsufi, Rise, Advance Gen2 and Gen1, Scale Gen1. Details will be communicated in late July / early August. The calendar - From the beginning of July 2026, we change the prices of RAM and disk options for new orders. - From the beginning of September 2026, we are changing the prices of our Gen and Gen-1 offers for new orders. - From the beginning of October 2026, we are changing prices for existing Gen and Gen-1 customers. - To keep your current prices, you can renew your services by paying 12 / 24 / 48 months in advance (upfront), which freezes prices over the period. Perspective The situation is exceptional and will last until 2028. AI demand is crazy at all levels: data centers, GPUs, token-as-a-service, agent AI. Everyone wants it, everyone uses it. This is what causes an impact on the entire business that is not "AI". We remain fully transparent with you. In February, we told you what was going to happen; it happened, and you suffered it with us. Today, we tell you what's coming. It's up to you to take the lead and decide what's best for you. For our part, we will continue to play the game of transparency and make the choice of anticipation.
This is just looking sad now

Well that was fast. Might just start decomissioning right now. Fuck.
You have current generation Advanced or Scale servers?
Best you can do is renew right now and be save for another year.
They've been really slow on restocks for the KS and SYS product lines lately, and there are rumors that many pending orders have been canceled because of RAM shortages. So I'm wondering if there are going to be any 🥖🥖🥖 left for OVH's anniversary sale this year.
As for price hikes, I figure KS and SYS should be fine for now, but who knows what things will look like next year or after September?
Since KS and SYS are much older generation from previous tiers (Rise, Adv, etc), the parts are really old.. there is nothing much new memory to acquire but may be new old stock. I don't think memory shortage is the only reason.
Yes, but we also have to factor in that they need to keep spare parts for their existing machines, so they'll likely hold back a lot of hard drives, memory, CPUs, motherboards, and so on for replacement. And their stock of spare parts surely isn't unlimited, so they might decide to use those machines for parts instead of putting them out as new promotions.
One thing I hadn't noticed before is that SYS-1 seems to use SODIMM instead of regular-sized DIMM. But they also have ECC, which is pretty interesting.
It's 100% market coordination.
Even Nvidia has to reduce the SOCAMM LPDDR5 for vera cpu by half. And I read that as their customer (gcp, aws, azure, etc) unwilling to pay for 25-30% extra for double the memory.
i order few days ago ks-stor with 120 s delivery. after contacting with support eta for delivery is late September. almost 2 months of waiting...
no way! I was able to grab a 128g server for 50eur only for letting it warm the DC hahaha still trying to find time to put it to work. setup was fast a couple minutes or hour. gravelines.
unfortunately, its true
"The ETA for your order is the following: 2026-09-28"
i understand current situation on market but if there is a available server with 120 s delivery and later they asked me to wait 2 months something is not right..
location london
Bit weird, had to emergency order something recently, which had the 2 min delivery and it did come in that timeframe +- 1 minute.
emergency order? Sounds like you were starving for a 🥖?
I wouldn't say starving but I needed storage asap. Now that got sorted and it's been idling since.
Edit: the lights are on but nobody is home xD

OVHcloud Q3 2026 Price Changes — Bare Metal & Public Cloud
OVHcloud has announced major pricing changes for Q3 2026, mainly driven by sharply rising RAM and storage costs caused by AI-related demand.
Bare Metal
New orders
Average price increases by range:
Overall average:
Existing servers / renewals
Starting October 1, 2026, existing Advance, Game, Scale and High Grade servers from Gen 2024 and Gen 2026 will also be affected at renewal.
Existing installed options receive a reduced increase:
For comparison, pricing increases for newly ordered RAM and storage can reach approximately +127% and +89% respectively.
Existing commitments are not affected during their current term.
Customers can lock in their current server price with a 12, 24 or 48-month upfront commitment, provided it is done before October 1, 2026 for existing servers.
Public Cloud
Instead of directly increasing the advertised compute price, OVHcloud is changing the billing model for Gen3 instances (B3, C3 and R3).
Starting October 1, 2026, two items previously included in the instance price will be billed separately:
The compute hourly rate itself therefore appears unchanged, but the total cost of an instance will increase by roughly +1.4% to +21.9%, depending on instance size.
Smaller instances are affected more because IPv4 and storage represent relatively fixed costs.
Local NVMe storage will become a new Low Latency Block Storage class. Customers will eventually be able to select 50, 100, 200 or 400 GB independently of instance size, which can reduce the effective price increase.
Example: a b3-64 would initially increase by around 14.9%, but with 50 GB storage selected, the increase could fall to around 2.4%.
Savings Plans
Existing Savings Plans keep their current price and discount until expiration. After that, OVHcloud will only guarantee the discount percentage, not the underlying base price.
Other changes:
OVHcloud expects RAM and storage prices to remain under significant pressure through 2027–2028, with a possible return toward normal market conditions in 2029.

Better keep KS series then. They might not restock many of them.
Interesting they didn't decide to increase the RISE servers RISE-S/M/L/XL all use DDR5
Possible Its before 2026.
I don't think they're gonna restock the cheap ones.. Till the AI bubble explodes.
Kinda regret I got rid of mine
These allow downloading ram directly via downloadmoreram.com
So saves physical handling.
Cost savings galore
Just downloaded some more thanks
Anyone need a KS-LE-E, 1650v3 64GB RAM, 2x480GB SSD in Roubaix? Might let this one go.
