"We are writing to inform you that your 6C Keros – NVME VPS service will be discontinued."
my best rewards is gone...BMW8...
Same. I guess I'll have to move to the closest alternative—SolidVPS with a similar plan (6C6G66G $12y).
Well, yet another reminder that good things don't last. 😅
That's true... at least I have 6 months left to find the alternative..
Glad to hear you still have another "solid" alternative
So after the price increase in january https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4719347#Comment_4719347
we continue with the next round only 6 month after?
also 2/5 of my services just get canceled?
(including the JabJab Special that was sold December of last year lol)
I am very much over this provider at this point, its just not worth the hassle to keep up with the non stop changes of lineups, EOL, price increases, CPU changes and so on. Pretty sure i have more mails from host-c alone than from all my other idlers combined.
What i will never understand is how this provider is getting so much hype around here, but I might just have missed the golden days ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also only listing the Current list price for the service in the email and not what the actual deal was (what is actually being paid) is dishonest af
and don't even get me started on the whole "recurring" debate
Maybe LET should introduce some kind of "trust pilot" rating to balance with LET threads?
With no hate to host-c, that how things will go when provider has most clients on bullshit cheap plans (especially with how good of service he provides). At some point they must see a profit and I don't blame them.
For example, in my case amount of "deals" is so marginal compared to all sales, that I would probably loose more money on trying raising it's price than just letting people renew them.
Thumbs up for letting people use their services until they are paid, some providers cancel with one day notice and either you pay more or fuck you.
I wish you all the best host-c moving forward.
I haven't been following this thread or receiving notification emails, but, lol, I just saw this:
Now that's a way to say, "GTFO, we don't want you here" to a customer
Appreciate you acknowledging that, and of course it's your choice to set the company's direction.
However, I think it came as a surprise to lot of us. I assumed "price adjustment" would mean that you're keeping up with increased operating and hardware costs. But this is something else entirely.
This might get lost in the chaos, but honestly I'd encourage folks this applies to to take them up on this, they're a pretty reasonable bunch
Some of the best customer service I've ever seen. It's one of the main reasons why I won't fault them for decisions like these. Do what you gotta do
I beg to differ. Providers here tend to receive the same reaction whenever prices are increased, regardless of whether the adjustment is $1 or $50.
These are not ordinary list-priced services receiving an arbitrary increase. They are heavily discounted promotional products that are no longer sustainable under their original conditions. Where possible, customers are being offered migration to an equivalent product from our current portfolio, together with a 20% discount on its list price.
Each individual notice clearly states:
Customers who accept the migration do not need to take any action. Customers who do not accept it can cancel from the billing panel, and their existing prepaid period will not be shortened.
The replacement products and their specifications are also publicly listed on our website. Unfortunately, this situation has reinforced something we already suspected: for a significant part of the promotional customer base, the exceptionally low price was the primary consideration, while the provider, product structure, and long-term sustainability were secondary.
@brauni, if you flagged us as an “IDLE seller,” I am sorry to hear that. However, please post the complete content of the notices you received so everyone can evaluate exactly what was communicated. I find it unlikely that the messages contained no details about the services offered as replacements.
If all your services belong to the non-renewal category, then the notices should instead clearly state that those services will continue operating until the end of their current prepaid billing periods but will not be available for renewal. Those contracts are being honoured in full; we are simply declining to enter into another term under the same promotional conditions.
or let me:
and for an upgradable service:
If you are unfamiliar with products such as White Neptune – NVME VPS – G2 or Event Horizon NX-01 – Storage 1 TB – G2.1, their specifications can be found on our websites:
The proposed replacement is not the only possible option. If another product from our portfolio would better suit your requirements, please open a support ticket, and we will review the available migration options with you.
I understand the frustration caused by these changes. However, this discussion has also demonstrated how little some promotional customers know about HOST-C as their service provider, the products we operate, or the options already available to them.
In that sense, thank you for illustrating precisely the point I was making: for many customers, the promotional price was the only meaningful factor, while the provider and the service behind that price received very little attention.
Anyone surprised by that cant be serious.
Nobody gives a shit who offers what. Nobody ever has given a shit. For anything apart if the product works and the price is right. That was never different. Especially for something this trivial. What value would there be in being attached to your company? If you would deliver physical goods of a certain quality, you might actually be able to generate some value with your company name but even that is only worth a fraction of the product itself.
Edit:
Point in case: Divorce, lmfao. Good luck becoming even as relevant to anyone
To be fair, it is LowEndTalk
But please try not to become too jaded. A lot of people do appreciate you guys
THX @tzuli
I do expect a lot of "popcorn" here the next days ...... decades
So we don't take it personally.

Damn @allthemtings, now I have to watch that movie again, the whole franchise
Family my arse
I find it unlikely I've ever said this?
Feel free to quote me
My complain is perfectly visible in your second mail.
The price shown there for the old / existing service is the list price, even though many of us here are paying promotional prices, which are much lower.
If that is a mistake or on purpose to make the price increases seem more reasonable I don't know.
Couldn't agree more
Maybe so. For me, there's a big difference between a 20-50% increase and a 200% increase. If it were the former, I never would have commented in this topic at all. I would have paid it and stayed quiet.
I appreciate that, and I'm glad for the time I was able to use your services as archival storage. Unfortunately the new prices are not competitive for my needs, even with the 20% discount. At least that's the case for now -- maybe it will change in the future.
