    BF - Revuelto - NVME VPS - I188 - $7.37 USD/Y -> Annual billing: $88.00/year
    Sirius B - NVME VPS - IPV6 Only - G2 (Annual Prepay Special) - $12 USD/Y -> Annual billing: $70.40/year
    Pioneer XNova - Storage 5TB - I125 - G2 - $110 USD/Y -> Annual billing: $171.60/year

    I'll probably keep the pioneer, but the others... RIP. It's been a good run!

    Do increased prices take affect after the current billing period or immediately? I hope it's the former, so I'll have some time to find an alternative and migrate my data.

    @nick_ said: Do increased prices take affect after the current billing period or immediately?

    Current billing period isn't affected at all. New price takes effect at renewal

    At least, that's what my email said

  • The way prices have been increased, it seems, like others, hostc also wants the lowend people to say good bye to the services to make room for the medium end and high ends.

    from $60 to $180.... that's a 200% increase (the highest rise among the providers).

    Thanked by 1AlteredParadox
  • At least I have 11 months left on my service to wait and see how market changes. Maybe a 5TB storage VPS will be cheaper in 2027? (lol)

    Yeah I still don't understand how prices of existing services can increase by that much remember this is already second price hike of 5tb vps

  • QuenFeaQuenFea Member

    :'( 3TB $45/year -> $149.51/year

    This is sad news, a price increase of over 3.3x. I think it's time to leave. Does anyone have any good options?

    Current service: Promo VPS Panama – Storage 3 TB

    New service: Hunter X-302 – Storage 4 TB – G2.1

    Current list price: $16.99/month

    Your renewal price, including the 20% existing-customer discount:

    Monthly billing: $13.59/month

    Quarterly billing: $40.78/quarter

    Annual billing: $149.51/year

    My VPS is 5TB disk + 20TB bandwidth + 4GB RAM (originally 2GB I think? I paid for some upgrade later), I don't think the original $45/year actually covers that even back in 2024

    price hike is understandable but 200% over the existing price.... it is disappointing.

    Genuine question, how can pricing for existing hardware get 3x more expensive?

  • JamphJamph Member

    Mine's (Nimitz CVN-68) gone from $90 - $130 - $338.80. got it in 2024 at $90 so will be an increase in a 3 year period of 276%.

    Guess it's time to buy some storage and selfhost my comics

    It was a 2y good run, thank you for your service.

    Looks like the Pioneer G2 didn't last that long either. The end is nigh.

    Provider increase prices by a hefty amount, majority of customers cancel, provider still has to pay for nodes sat empty, no one pays the new price, provider deadpools

    The story for the coming months across the board, strap in

    I need potassium. Potatoes are too expensive, even in Romania where @host_c is keeping the servers.

    Also, there are ~8 services that will be decommissioned at their current billing end, as for those the price increase was even higher. Those will be sent out today.

    Remeber, all IPV6 services will be ended, no exceptions. And i highly doubt that we will ever revive that soon.

    @allthemtings said: Provider increase prices by a hefty amount, majority of customers cancel, provider still has to pay for nodes sat empty, no one pays the new price, provider deadpools

    True to some extent, yet at 0.7KW / node, It is more feasible if we keep them powered down for the moment and just not bother with expense, ip leases, payment fees, accounting, spare parts, software licenses and whatever in the mix.

    As in general, depending on your service, storage wise, you end up on the 2.5-4 USD / TB / MO at current market prices.

    I highly recommend to use the cancellation button, as prices for recurring invoices will get updated starting today.

    I also appreciate the civil matter some of you took the news.

    This is a company wide shift in direction guys, it is what it is, but what got us here will not take us further under the current conditions.

  • I will probably stick to my $1.3/TB/m deal then, luckily valid until 2028.

    Greece is like a two-hour drive from where they live. Kerosene for the private jet is expensive tho :o
