They've shut down their clients' VPS and aren't responding to tickets. This is very sad.

Yes. They were shut down due to some legal disputes. The last post was on July 17th - https://novacloud-hosting.instatus.com/

My server was also shut down, and my ticket remains unanswered. Now I'm looking for a new provider.

When did you open your ticket? How long are you waiting for an answer to decide that "and aren't responding to tickets"? TicketS as in multiply?

Can you show some ticket screenshots? With dates etc?

    Okey I see.

One datacenter provider "died" (FFM2 - so dedis and Standard VPS). It's offline for like 4 days. Last status update about few hours after they "identified" the problem, yet lack of updates for 4 days in middle of weekdays is a worrying sign, very worrying sign :(

OP has some wrong/outdated status page btw.

    https://novacloud.instatus.com/

Probably dead as we know dedis the most expensive part [*]

    btw. op did you try

If you have a Standard VPS DE, you can contact our team at [email protected]

We're currently preparing announcements to all customers via Email and will continue resolving tickets, there is no hardware issue or general outage, but a problem with the infrastructure provider which was not caused by us.

Our team was busy working on restoring most services (IP-Transit, aswell as High-End VPS DE were mostly restored on monday with some exceptions) and restoring some more Standard VPS DE services, but due to the high volume of tickets, we are not able to respond to all of them and restore all Standard VPS DE VPS, which is a bit more complicated and time-consuming, aswell as restoring our FFM2 location.

Only Standard VPS DE services are currently affected. These customers will receive further updates when we have new information available. All other services are currently reachable.

All affected customers have already received an incident update today, including customers who already have their services restored, aswell as a runtime compensation for the outage.

I just received email from NovaCloud Hosting. They promised to restore everything by August 7th.

We are contacting you with an update regarding the continuing outage affecting your Standard VPS DE service.

    Affected services

Standard VPS DE - XEON Root Configurator`

    Our sincere apologies

We sincerely apologise that your service remains unavailable and for the time it took us to provide this detailed update. Our team has been focused on preparing and processing recoveries while gathering reliable information about the situation and the available options. We understand the impact the continuing outage may have on your applications and data.

A legal dispute arose between our contractual colocation provider and its upstream infrastructure provider, which operates the racks used for our FFM2 location inside the NTT FRA1 data center. We had fulfilled our contractual obligations to our provider and were not involved in this dispute. We understand, however, that you rely on us for the service and will continue working on recovery and the corresponding billing correction.

    Current status

The physical systems used for Standard VPS DE became unavailable at 09:55 on 20 July 2026. We currently have no physical access to the original servers or their live storage, so a normal restart is not yet possible.

Urgent recoveries to replacement infrastructure in the Netherlands are already in progress. Due to the unusually high number of recovery requests, processing is taking longer than initially expected. It may take up to another 48 hours for all current requests to be completed.

For each affected service, please tell us:

    • whether you want the latest available backup restored or only a new empty KVM instance;
    • whether the Netherlands replacement should remain your permanent service location after FFM2 has been restored; and
    • the affected service ID.

If you request a recovery but do not specify whether you want a backup restore or an empty KVM instance, we will restore the latest available backup by default.

If you have already submitted a recovery request but did not provide all of the information above, please reply to or update the existing ticket. Do not open a duplicate ticket, as duplicate requests make assignment and verification more difficult and may delay processing for you and other affected customers.

If you choose the Netherlands only as a temporary replacement and later want to return to Frankfurt, please open a new migration ticket after our status page confirms that normal FFM2 operations have been restored. Because return migrations must be planned and completed individually to avoid further downtime, longer processing times should be expected during that phase.

    Expected restoration and compensation

We currently expect the Frankfurt infrastructure to be restored by 7 August 2026, potentially earlier. Our team is already in direct contact with the infrastructure operator and has clarified the planned takeover of the existing infrastructure.

You will receive a credit for the entire period during which the affected service was unavailable, plus an additional seven days at no charge. The final credit will be applied after restoration, once the complete outage duration is known.

Please do not pay any currently open invoice for the affected Standard VPS DE service. We will correct the billing after restoration.

The later service extension may temporarily cause our billing system to create two invoices for the same service. If both invoices expressly refer to the same service ID, only one must be paid. The duplicate will be cancelled automatically.

After restoration, Frankfurt traffic will primarily be routed through PletX using two redundant 40 Gbit/s connections. This provides 80 Gbit/s of capacity and PletX DDoS protection. Two additional redundant 10 Gbit/s connections through an alternative upstream provider will be available as a backup if the PletX connection becomes unavailable.

Confirmed updates will continue to be published at:

    https://novacloud-hosting.instatus.com/cmrodnyxv06gz0kmrkcnlpw2v

Once again, we apologise for the outage and thank you for your patience.

    Thanked by 1Nekopara
  • Well, another example to show that you must always keep your own backups. Good luck to Nova and its clients in recovering the data.

@NovaCloudHosting when are you going to FFM2/NTT-FRA1 datacenter in person? FYI, the problem with the previous @alexhost NL location magically disappear once they sent their own people

We are already in contact with the infrastructure provider and found a solution. There is no need to send a technician from our side, since there is no dispute between us and the party, which can provide access to the rackspace. We have received a confirmation, that our hardware was not moved or changed in any way.

Yes, thats true. But since we were informed of a possible service disruption beforehand, we ensured to create backups of all affected services. Unfortunately we didn't had the necessary capacities to migrate all services earlier and additionally.

We had planned a new location in Nuremberg a few weeks ago, which unfortunately had to be postponed due to delays with the provisioning of our rack.

The last backup of Standard VPS DE services were created exactly 25 minutes before the outage started and distributed to all of our 3 geo-redundant backup locations.

Well done, this is really good. Usually, providers do backup on best effort basis, so it is always good to have own backups.

    Great :D

It's a really stressful situation for us, but we are working to do everything which is possible to minimize the customer impact.

Roughly 90% of our customers' services were already restored on monday. At the moment, we're looking at around 95%, of which mostly are Standard VPS DE services.
