I wasn't defending RS, just pointing out that what they said isn't ambiguous at all.
From what you said above, you think your server has never needed any replacement hardware and so there's no additional costs until this eventually happens on the specific server you're hosted on and then those additional costs will be split amongst the users of that server.
No, it doesn't work that way and that's ridiculous.
He still had a plenty good point to not ignore, those failures aren’t daily or it wasn’t sustainable in the first place, hardware failures are fairly irregular a smaller 10-15% increase this could of been argued. The 50% bump does not cover maintenance it’s purely a hardware premium on what’s pre-existing.
Do you recommend any other provider with good prices, support, and hardware quality? I've always had these issues with RS.

I’m maybe not best to ask as I colo more than I rent, for dedicated servers I can only recommend 1gservers.com, but they do lack locations solid servers and support tho very professional always priced me fair.
