How does a meme get you a severe warning?
Yet there are users who post in bad faith, constantly flame and they get away with it.

Somebody please explain the standards here lol.

oles liked hetzner, i think he got a special deal or something for his free vps project, and so he wanted to be their knight in shining armor and used his moderation power to warn me for posting a meme about hetzner

The amount of toxicity and harassment tolerated here is completely unnecessary to the success of this forum. I know it's because there's a belief that without it the forum loses a bunch of eyeballs. But it makes it very difficult for companies to want to maintain much of a presence here. I am not suggesting LET needs WHT-style moderation, but moderators stepping in more often to shutdown the worst of what goes on here would certainly be welcome.

How many servers does @jar rent/collocate with you @qps?

what i really can’t fathom is throwing away 10+ years of trust over 2 randoms on the internet saying things that hurt your feelings. like why???? you’re really going to throw it all away just for that??

i like small companies that engage with the community and aren’t soulless corporate slop, but it’s times like these where i wish the company i’m dealing with was just a bit more corporate and professional like @Francisco ‘s Namecrane, and doesn’t let feelings get the better of him so easily (clearly seems to be a pattern if you look at jar’s negative trustpilot reviews).

it’s a shame, i genuinely liked mxroute as a service, and always thought of @jar as a chill dude.

It's none of those. I sent you a PM(to avoid potentially leaking ur info) about the same.

    ...

The doxing is REALLY bad. He did not lookup the info from his DB as @WyvernCo said that he was never the customer, but the way the details were looked up was shady as fuck too. Normally, this is what people call it as "doxing". I can say that with confidence as someone who has worked(although very briefly) with law enforcement.

    ...

I also partially agree with that one person who said that given if @WyvernCo had ever registered on MXRoute, I do believe he would've weaponized the customer information to dox him and find his employer and do shit like that.

Thanks for the DM, I agree this looks most likely -- Jar found a WyvernCo buried in old public records and did some online sleuthing to locate the person listed in that old registration's now current employer, which appears to be Together Money.

So basically Jar assumed the wrong person based on public records, did some stalking and then tried to get that guy fired. Not as bad as using his own database, but still wild stuff. It shows how dangerous and unhinged Jar is.

  • What nobody is saying is that Wyvern doxxed himself by sending a trademark infringement report, which includes a signed affidavit, to Hetzner (which hosts MXr's billing system), who passed it along.

Please no more attack sales. They never should have been permitted in the first place.

Good we finally got to Hetzner. I hear the story pre-"doxxing" is that Hetnzer's MXRoute machines were briefly taken down due to a complaint by a specific individual at the time of the original drama. Apparently the individual doxxed himself with the takedown process.

  • In all seriousness, I hope @jar will make a full statement addressing all this - preferably here.

Are you trying to argue that misusing information from a complaint to go and try and get someone fired somehow makes it more ok than pulling the information from public records? If anything, that seems way worse

Exactly; also I never gave Hetzner my name out of concern for Jar's behavior. Maybe Hetzner gave other details about me like e-mail address or IP, but it would have been harder to tie those to me.

disturbing to see he is still trying to justify all this, and thinking he "only lost $15 of business" over this. people are rightfully concerned about entrusting private data with jar over this
