Damn, but how fast vultures came in and began tearing corpse, which is still warm. A warning sign for all providers.
I gathered that he had a higher up position on the forum, which to me only emphasizes that he should know better. Surely he's faced hotter fires than harsh (and perhaps incessant) criticism over petty, retaliatory reviews?
We used to use MXRoute for our transactional emails a few years ago, but they ended up banning us for what seemed like no real reason. From what we could tell, it happened while we were just testing email templates and sending them to 1–2 addresses that we own.
What really surprised us was that they later showed up on LowEndTalk, found our offer thread (completely unrelated to the issue), and posted there to say we’d been banned. The way it was handled came across as pretty unprofessional and honestly left us a bit speechless.
In any case, we decided to move away from MXRoute which in my opinio is one of the worst email providers out there.
There are plenty of other solid email providers out there, so it’s worth considering alternatives.
This is cooked...I really hate the drama but I now am curious about a new mail provider. I don't like free services like gmail because ads and annoying behavior. I always thought Jar was super cool.
That's useful advice, LET is very instructive, people here may not be always polite but you do learn a lot by being here, high end types tend to hide behind corporate bullshit and there's little chance you will ever learn anything from them, they are useless to me.
LET may be low end but to me those high end types are the lower end, their lawyer style pseudo politeness is the total opposite of true politeness, I find them inauthentic, hardly bearable and not worth my time.
So what viable alternatives given price: 15$\3 years, stellar deliverability, quad nine uptime and no bullshit support? The crane is out of the question, their competence is subpar.
I'm likely going back to hosting mailcow or mail-in-a-box myself and using Amazon SES as an outbound relay. I know AWS is likely somewhat unpopular here but I'm already approved...
You had a 10% bounce rate on your own email addresses?
LMFAOOOO
Sure, perhaps check my ticket about refund then? Because i cancelled the tag and still was charged...
Oh, I just checked, the ticket got closed.
From what I've seen here jar's character flaws are too serious and staying with him poses serious risks. People still using his services should consider moving as soon as possible.
Wait, so they closed the ticket when you asked for refund and haven't provided you refund as well too?
Looks like so:
Damn @3K33 sorry to hear that, I suggest making another thread please about this discussion, I think that might help ya as well and I hope that you can get the money refunded and wish you good luck in hosting man, it can get tough out there sometimes.
This is true, but who stepped in it first?
If a moderator had stepped in early on and told the two users that they had said their piece and to drop it, none of this probably happens. Instead, there was no moderation. The users (and perhaps others?) decided to make it into a game and continued to escalate, engaging in increasingly harassing behavior both on LET and elsewhere.
The amount of toxicity and harassment tolerated here is completely unnecessary to the success of this forum. I know it's because there's a belief that without it the forum loses a bunch of eyeballs. But it makes it very difficult for companies to want to maintain much of a presence here. I am not suggesting LET needs WHT-style moderation, but moderators stepping in more often to shutdown the worst of what goes on here would certainly be welcome.
Update: Just got refunded, problem solved i guess.
Sad, that I had to post publicly to resolve such simple thing.
Lets go!, Good to hear that!
Yea it is sad, I hope LET learns a little from all of this perhaps.
I can agree with the lack of moderation and how slow it is to get rid of shitters.
If I had a business offering hosting I think I would be extremely cautious of LET in its current state.
There's a lot wrong here... but what I have strong opinions about is Jar's actions. I think all three fall under the unprofessional umbrella, don't get me wrong. Whilst that review was posted in March... We've yet to come to any conclusion on how Jar dug up that information and wrote that on wyvern's previous employment. We also have yet to come to any conclusion on the accusation of alleged swatting.
It's pretty interesting to see some masks coming off. I think that's going to influence decisions and make a small dent.
Sillycat no longer seeks or welcomes traffic from the IRS. I'm not paying the tax debts anymore!
Nice,
Do tell how that went

If you run a business you need to be able to handle criticism from clients and non clients. It goes with the territory.
LET will always air on the side of less moderation vs. more, even though that can produce examples where a heavier approach to moderation may have been better in certain cases. There is no simple solution that works universally and without both pros and cons.
He also has access to everyones email... I wonder what other shit he's doing. Not the kind of behavior for someone in a position of "trust".
Very disappointing.
maybe you should make commentverify an ai platform scanning all comments
the issue is that we wont agree on what the worst of the worst is
i got a severe warning for posting a reddit meme about hetzner for example
i have an idea
lets make the worst of the worst anything that doesn contribute to a 200 usd payment
easy as that
Ah Jon. As a regular critic I do not believe the current way is working, hence why this situation exists.
That still needs a "please explain."
Edit: holy fuck drafts please
what do you mean
Bring the king back
A great point.
