Yeah that's why I linked versions archived from 24th and 25th March and also the screenshot is from previous version. The statement about backups was also in previous version of their ToS so not sure what's the point you're trying to make.

This was something mega dumb to do on Aluy's part for sure, but they aren't a big time MSP that is offering offsite backups and disaster recovery. They clearly state that backups are on the user. They certainly can't be expected to give a ton of compensation for this. Hell, the word delete was in the hostname of the server this guy wanted to keep.
I canceled a really good deal from another provider here when they deleted another user's VPS. In that case, there was a clear pattern of mistakes that made me believe that poorly trained support folks had way too much access to user assets. I'd still consider Aluy, for the moment, considering that so far this is a one time event. I think it's good for things like this to be reported here, but this user is every bit as culpable for any losses as Aluy.

You vibe code, that's clever. A few idiots try to use AI models as assistants instead of using them to just vibe code as most smart people do.
When you use AI models as assistants you have to babysit those models, you are forced to look at all the AI garbage they generate.
Vibe coders don't do have to look at all at AI generated garbage, they don't do any babysitting, they just dump the slop everywhere they can without even looking at it. And call it a day.

I don't use aluy anymore, but when I had VMs with them they were incredibly friendly and accommodating in ticket support. I also sort of get their mistake, why would you run prod off of a VM named tempdelete?
