  • @onidel did I miss the announcement that storage VPS and object storage are now available in Sydney as well as Singapore? The website doesn’t show me they are?

@onidel - any chance of a 500GB storage box for some of us lowenders?

Also, it would be nice to have bandwidth = 2 x Storage size (since you're counting IN+OUT).

    I don't think we'll be offering anything below 1 TB :(

Thanks for the suggestion regarding bandwidth usage. We are actually considering not counting inbound traffic for Storage VMs.

I recorded a maximum speed of 307 MiB/s during a speed test on the local node in Singapore.

tested from a node in Vietnam just now and got 178MiB/s. there is no network speed limit on the s3 gateway endpoint (at least for now).

I would like to ask, do you support refunds?

    Weirdly specific question...

Refunds are possible in general according to ToS, but promo plans (like the ones in this thread) can only be refunded as account credits.
It is only available within first 7 days from ordering the service and it does not apply to suspensions due to ToS violations.

That's just my interpretation, it needs confirmation from @onidel anyway.

yes 👍 we do not want customers to be unhappy, so we'll try to work things out, but in the worst case, we can provide refund as account credits.

we've had quite a few cases where customers asked for a refund because the IP wasn't "native". While this isn't technically refundable under our ToS, we've still issued refunds in those cases.

unless someone is clearly abusing the service or asking for something unreasonable, there's really no good reason not to refund if the service isn’t usable for the customer.

that said, if you really want to have an "native" IP address or want to use a specific IP range, please consider using Reserved IP to save a bit of time for both parties :D

More likely mid-Feb. Fault #3 is being fixed now which is earlier than scheduled (April) due to a boat becoming available.

Fault #2 off the coast of Perth will be the last one remaining.

So every storage box sort of gives better value as you go up. Except Box 4. Its exactly double the price of Box 2 but no double NVMe

I’m very against pre-defined storage limits for S3. It’s the perfect product for usage based billing. No product is better suited for usage based billing than S3

So far so good, my local NAS backup weekly to s3 while my various linux DB backup daily.
Last check, all files are uploaded correctly to respective bucket although i'm lazy to do a recovery test.

I would love usage based billing that deducts from balance with no minimum storage (like AWS S3) at normal rates.
