My account @VeloxMedia got disabled without a refund. @DP ban this host.

I wonder what the hidden details are :p

I bought one of the UK servers. Works fine as does my account.

So, question is....what did you do?

I opened a ticket to ask if it was still possible to get a partial refund, as I was concerned about the whole situation. Like some other people, he told me that he is going to delete the account and the service I had. I replied that he should either refund me or fulfil the service. When I tried to log in to check the ticket for an answer, I found that my account had been disabled.

Interesting, as I had a similar ticket conversation without an issue.

Have you tried again or just LETSupport?

PayPal dispute. Got my money back in under 60 seconds.

So, you freaked out like lots of others rather than being patient.

I've had zero reason to charge it back as my servers have been online.

From the discussions going forward it looks like it's been absorbed by a much larger company.

He freaked out?! Yeah, sure, it's definitely not the owner whos answering like a offended child, when someone isn't satisfied. Isn't like Eric just disables their accounts or at least threatens people in tickets that he would, when people are unsatisfied with the DDoS protection, uptime, communication and/or ownerchange.

I asked if it was possible, not demanded it. His responses were more than unprofessional, announcing that he would delete my account and that I should contact the payment provider and arrange a chargeback but if you are happy with a company that never told you they have been sold and treating customers as if one were a supplicant, that's your decission. There are more hosters with a pretty good price and a functional and good support like @NovaCloudHosting

A much bigger company, but the professionalism is just as lacking as with the previous owner, due to the lack of communication via the appropriate channel. How difficult would it have been to send an email to all customers, explaining what happened and what's coming next? If they'd been transparent from the moment they took over, this wouldn't have escalated like it has.

so what's the name of the new company?

Eric is the same, super arrogant, threatening customers to shut down their servers and terminate their accounts. Velox Media, LLC has lost all the trust. Who want's to stay or buy from them when the owner is pompus and bullying his customers. Its scary AF to host production sites with Velox Media henceforth!

Just like any other business, people are expected to do their due diligence and hedge the risk through supply chain diversification or making backup plans to solve issues.

Agreed, but what I meant is not the price itself but the fact of the promotion.

Especially this is relevant within LET community, due to high demand of "unsustainable" type of deals.

Personally, I (and I think some other people here as well) treat them more like a trial to see how provider treats you as a customer, what you should expect in terms of reliability etc.

What is important to highlight is that such offers won't pay for provider's own expenses, including support, therefore for production environment I would expect usage of non-promotional packages.

That's interesting way to interpret the "unsustainable" deals, as it gives customer the experience with the provider, some kind of the shoe-in-the-door
Considering computing resource are deflationary, I think "unsustainable" deals will break even within the next 10-20 years. So, I just think of it as a long-term business plan, with short-term loss.

I understand your justification. But, from my opinion, it may not work well. Or, it work well for those with huge market share, but it hasn't work well to the defunct LET hosts
If the vps is stable enough for production, why bother using bare metal/ dedicated server? There's always pressure to cut down on costs.
When hosts offer bottom-rock prices all year round, the conversion to profit-generating plan will be low and will become the new normal. And LET users become repulsed by the normal price.
Should you lower the normal prices to entice LET users on the normal price? I don't know how your bottom line will be affected.

This is why I am doing very limited and very rarely some deals at all.

Should you lower the normal prices to entice LET users on the normal price? I don't know how your bottom line will be affected.

Price competition is very hard for small players, and from what I see it plays significant role in the failure of many "LET hosts", which is not necessarily deadpool.

Skhron for sure isn't the most recognisable host at LET due to how few offers I do and almost none "unsustainable" ones, but I don't have problems gaining customers who could justify spending some extra funds to get server for a usual price.

Right, it isn't the most recognizable because of the deals, but ironically because of the shitposts. And it costs almost zero to company since you're already monitoring LET. And in some way, it helps you gained customer with healthy gross margin, perhaps 20-30%. Now, I am confident skhron will still be in business for the next 36 months.
It certainly help since you almost exclusively don't deal with the absolute-lowend consumer base.

You have to chargeback or they won't learn. They sent you a message telling you to chargeback, that is enough reason for a chargeback. This message is pretty clear proof of the need for one, so your bank should side with you.

Every successful chargeback costs them a large fine from the credit card company, and if they get too many, they are banned from processing credit cards. Let's do it and see what happens.
