    i kept stepping outside trying to catch my neighbor smoking to steal one of his, but never got to see him.. no squares for me either.. =) i haven't smoked in 5 years (and 1 week).. cigarettes, i mean. i did smoke a few joints throughout, only because they sometimes come free with purchase of vapes and concentrates, or as doorbusters.

    I tried to quit Smoking. Just can't seem to be able to beat it. Could go days without but then... Just one or 2 a day... For a day or two.. then I can weeks without.

    Unless I'm partying.

    at some point i just noticed that the only thing i was getting from cigarettes was increased heart rate.. none of the previously perceived benefits were there. and the cost.. omg.. a pack = $12 or so.. even going to a nearby state of indiana - 45min drive - would still be $7 a pack.. so i quit.. i do not get it how people can't quit stuff, starting with my wife, and hers is only "thrill of buying stuff", not even close to actual nicotine deficiency.. and similar started my months off of weed. just stopped after literally getting high 5 times a day for 20 years with just 1 half year break in 2012 when i had no money to buy it cause had no job for like 8 months.. so this summer i stopped. it was easier than cigarettes, and easier than quitting pepsi and sugar in general, cause those 2 were gone for good, but weed - was just a break.. as i mentioned, getting high in september was the best time of my life.. LOL.. same will be in january... =)

    I couldn't quit no matter what I did. But I came real close or atleast my consumption reduced when the government decided to raise taxes on cigs, bringing the price to almost 2x of what it used to be

    I really dislike the smell of cigarette smoke and vapes and all that stuff so it's really easy for me to avoid any addiction to them. But I've worked with some guys who were crazily addicted even to just nicotine.

    Here is an interesting thing. When I do stop smoking for quite a good amount of time, I do hate standing around people who are smoking cause infeel nauseated by the smell of the smoke :lol:

    That's because it really stinks.

    Clothes are the worst. I remember one colleague who used to go out to smoke a lot, but his clothes were always disgusting. If he was within about a metre from you, you felt like you were gonna puke.

    my sister went to a live event in Mexico city couple of years ago.. you know how those people are all great athletes and gymnasts and stuff, so she was a witness to once in a blue moon event when 1 of the actors actually broke his back.. damaged spine.. they carried him out for real..

    funnily just this summer i invited her and her husband to join me for the PFL 7 (one of the few MMA organizations slightly smaller than UFC, there are many way smaller, but PFL is big same as ONE FC and used to be Bellator that PFL bought and absorbed, same as UFC absorbed WEC and some others in its 32 years of existence).. anyway, during that event 2 heavyweights were fighting and 1 of them kneed the other 1 in the balls, and it was either very intense or the other 1 faked it to win, but he never got up and was awarded victory, and since PFL uses Olympic method - it's understandable, cause the winner went on to semifinals for heavyweights... In any case, such an event when 1 wins due to balls hit is also very very rare.. so my sister actually witnessed very rare events every time she went to see something like that..

    Oh yes, I remember, you told me about your hate of the fake wrestling when we talked about the series - Heels. Yes, I grew out of it instantly as I got older. Realised it was too fake and that Kane didn't always wear his mask. It was just something we naive kids just instantly believed to be real cause it was shown soemthimes live on TV :lol:

    I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks it's real.

    I have a friend who's obsessively into female Japanese wrestling and I'm pretty sure he thinks it's real. He's absolutely obsessed by all them and talks about their stats and results non stop and genuinely gets upset when his favourite one loses a game.

    True, but we were kids back then. YouTube wasn't a thing. This was all we had and no one there to tell us that all of that was a farse. Undertaker didn't hate Kane, his "brother" and all such. We were naive and young enough to believe all that bs.

    I never really watched it but I remember the name Giant Haystacks. Maybe he was only popular in the UK.

    at some point i just noticed that the only thing i was getting from cigarettes was increased heart rate.. none of the previously perceived benefits were there. and the cost.. omg.. a pack = $12 or so.. even going to a nearby state of indiana - 45min drive - would still be $7 a pack.. so i quit.. i do not get it how people can't quit stuff, starting with my wife, and hers is only "thrill of buying stuff", not even close to actual nicotine deficiency.. and similar started my months off of weed. just stopped after literally getting high 5 times a day for 20 years with just 1 half year break in 2012 when i had no money to buy it cause had no job for like 8 months.. so this summer i stopped. it was easier than cigarettes, and easier than quitting pepsi and sugar in general, cause those 2 were gone for good, but weed - was just a break.. as i mentioned, getting high in september was the best time of my life.. LOL.. same will be in january... =)

    my first cigarette i smoked when i was 7, and first pack too, but then i was beaten to pulp by my mother, and it was over.. then at 16 i resumed.. for 25 years..

    PS i was left to do my own thing when i was a child.. my first pornography i saw at the same tender age of 7.. i couldn't understand it and puked.. but i still remember parts of that movie...

    Damn man, 7 is way toooo young, way tooo, to have done both of those things. Were you born in a household with many kids or something, such that it was difficult to micromanage every single one of you or something?

    no, but both of my parents were in the army, and mom was into public theater, she was the "director" of plays and such.. so i was left to myself. i only have sister who's 3.5y younger.

    we lived in a small 10k people town that mostly housed military officers and their families. so everyone knew everyone. so my mother would sometimes send me to buy her cigarettes with a little note asking cashier to sell those to me.. so it was easy to buy some later.. or ask some random soldier..

    Outside the US, membership is a requirement since it was introduced. I wasn't sure if it was a legal thing because they price all their stuff without tax because they're selling to trade. Nowadays they've added the tax price in a smaller font because more retail customers members shop there, but the membership is very restrictive. You have to be in certain professions to be able to join.

    Yeah, costco membership isn't cheap and you need to be in one of a few specific professions, or run a company. I was only allowed to join originally because I worked for a big US company but in the UK, which was one of their backdoor routes to membership.
