    Hi!

Due to ongoing hardware issues with the platform our HDD based Storage VPS are based on we will discontinue this product line at the end of your billing cycle. You will not be able to renew the service and your service will be terminated at the end of the billing cycle. Ensure you backup your data.

You can use your service until xx.xx.2026.

What wish? Any provider can discontinue any products they own. You thought their ongoing network issues caused their storage VPS product line to be ended?

They're very quick to respond to everything except for anything related to packet loss. Well apart from stating it must be an issue on your ISPs side, completely ignoring all smokepings I sent them.

Considering there are multiple of us experiencing this issue, I'm going to say it's not an ISP issue. Hope he doesn't mind if I tag him in here after @FAT32 did it recently too. @heartbeat_IT

100% it's not an ISP issue, but that's what I keep getting back. It can't be that all our ISPs are shit. Moreover, again, please_have_a_look_at_my_smokeping.

You still have few months for that - I assume we all bought it at the same time and we have like few months left.

However I don't understand this decision (I mean I get it, it's too cheap atm :D), but after the migration (and migration out of NAT for me, you guys also get IPv4 addresses?) things are stable and working muuuuuuuuuuch better than last year when it was randomly rebooting.

  • You guys reminded me.

    I just answered your ticket:

    Hi!

Our services are unmanaged. It seems you installed software and/or changed configuration that led to this situation.

Per the noVNC output, there are services running out of memory. It could be that the SSH server was killed due to memory shortage.

Rebuild via Client Area to get a fresh system or fix it yourself via Console.

Since moving to Amsterdam and replacing the switch, our IPv6-only service has been stable.
Those complainers are using outdated IPv4 that caused all the trouble.

that is a joke IPv6 solved the problem? lol!

I have 10+ VPS in NL location with IPv4 only, and have 0 issues.

    useless IPv6

issue with Heartbeat is related to kernel/network misconfig in proxmox related to ARP issues / MAC spoofing causing packet loss and random resets! I had same issue and solved it with 3 different providers with Dedicated Servers

    Could be proxmox.

We use heartbeat-it as our upstream for both NL and SE and have had zero issues that were related to anything on our their side. Have been very happy with the service and network. 🤷

    Ticket please…

I have opened a new ticket (#932845) because my reply to ticket #960118 on November 28th has been ignored. For full transparency, here is the complete content of that ticket:

    Hi,

I am contacting you again regarding the ongoing packet loss on my VPS. In its current state, the VPS is unusable for my intended use cases, such as a Rustdesk relay or gameserver hosting. After you moved out of Skylink and identified the root cause previously, the service was somewhat stable for a while, but the issue has resurfaced since the beginning of September, as clearly shown in the Smokeping charts: http://91.218.20.53/smokeping/?target=DNS.GoogleDNS1

This packet loss is 100% unrelated to my ISP, as Smokeping runs directly on my VPS. It has nothing to do with my local connection or provider. The VPS is querying Google and other major networks such as Cloudflare; suggesting the issue lies with them would be extremely unlikely. Additionally, multiple customers worldwide have reported similar packet loss issues with your NL VPS on LowEndTalk, which strongly indicates this is a problem on your side, not with our individual ISPs.

I paid 2 years up front for this VPS and have only been able to use it properly for roughly 3 months. There has been no compensation for the packet loss and downtime, including during the “emergency migration”. If you are unable to resolve this ongoing problem within a reasonable timeframe, I request a refund for the remaining months of this service. Under the circumstances, that is a fair and reasonable resolution, after which we can part ways.

    Kind regards,

Sure thing. I just answered your ticket:

    Hi!

I just issued a refund for the initial transaction. The money should be back on your credit card within 10 days. If not, please let us know.

    A few words:

You ordered a 6 € + VAT per year VPS from us.

We acknowledge that the service quality we provided was not on par with what we have wanted to provide to you and what you expect.

In the end it is a 6 € + VAT per year VPS. The calculation for it is that we have minimal to no human interaction for it. Of course it should be a usable service for you. It seems it was not, sorry again for that.

We offered a free extra year via Ticket 5 days ago and you accepted it the same day. We didn't answer yet and hereby revoke our offer and we are closing your account together with
the refund. Please do not order services again in the future.

Why the refund now and not the free VPS for one year? It seems that we have different expectations for a 6 € + VAT per year service and therefore we are now parting ways.
