Warning about Hostiko

edited August 2025 in General

Just wanted to share my experience with Hostiko in case someone is thinking about using them.

Last month I spent a lot of money testing different hosting companies (over $100k). I talked to many datacenters and almost everyone was really cool, helpful, and honest. They kept their word and tried to solve problems if something went wrong.

But with Hostiko it was a disaster.

I bought all the available dedicated servers they had on their site – 5 in total. The site showed how many servers were available, and I ordered exactly that amount. Then I waited for a long time, and suddenly they told me they actually don’t have those servers. They offered “better” ones instead, but said it would take another week. I agreed.

Then they added some extra fee to my account because of this “upgrade”. I thought since they messed everything up, they would cover that cost, but they didn’t. I even offered a fair solution, to reduce the number of paid days to cover the fee but they said no.

So I paid the extra money. After that, I left a negative review, and suddenly they started asking me to verify my account with an ID, or they would block it. They said it’s in their terms of service, which say they follow EU laws, but honestly, the whole thing looks shady.

There’s no company address on their website. You can’t download invoices. The terms and privacy policy look like they’re written by someone who has no idea about legal stuff. It’s like a fake company with weird rules made to protect themselves, not the customer.

In the end, my servers were supposed to run for over half a month more, but they blocked my account just because I didn’t want to send them my personal documents. And of course, they never explained how they would store or protect that data.

If you're reading this and looking for hosting, this forum is a great place and there are many solid companies out there. But seriously, stay away from Hostiko.

Long story short, they blocked my servers out of revenge for the bad review, using their terms of service as an excuse, even though those terms don’t actually comply with the laws they claim to follow.

By calculating proportionally, they basically stole about $300 from me for the unused server time.

    Most providers show fake inventory.
After you order, they squeeze more KVM into the existing machine.
When it’s dedicated servers that require physically non-existent hardware, delays occur.

Yeah, that’s not much of an excuse lol.

Every other provider I worked with actually had the servers they listed.

    Thats yuge!

And yet here you are, spending 100s of $ on a fake company. Sure, you are way to smart.

Also why would you not give your details as requested? Seems shady from you.

There is 💯 more to the story than a simple bad review. The fact that you decided to post one is probably they didn't bend over to your needs.

Are you expecting me to send private documents for an order worth several hundred dollars halfway through using a service from a company that doesn’t provide any data on the website or issue invoices?

If so, DM me your ID, it will be the same situation.

Why are you not accepting that you ordered from a seemingly fake company (that's what you claim) in the first place? Is reading so difficult?

If you do stupid, you get stupid back.

    So we agree:
Both scenarios are irrational. Paying a company like Hostiko and sending documents to someone unknown. Fortunately, it was only 5 servers :)

    Haha
    Nice deflection.
You are sending documents to hostiko where you got your servers. Why would you trust a company with data if you dont trust them?

As you can see, given the scale of my expenses, it wasn't a significant amount, which is why I didn't check them. That's also why this post exists, so others will know for the future.

    Hi,
We asked you to complete verification after you ignored our messages for a week regarding the need to clear your negative credit balance. We also informed you that if you did not do so or settle the balance, your services would be blocked. After that, you started to complain and only then left a review on Trustpilot. Therefore, the verification request is not related to any retaliation for the review.

We required verification because we have previously encountered users with behavior similar to yours who attempted to damage our equipment.

Moreover, your account appears quite suspicious since you indicated a questionable country during registration. You also prefer to use anonymous cryptocurrency while simultaneously requiring a lot of computing power. All of this is quite suspicious. Then, you began to refer to EU laws despite choosing a country that is not part of the EU, which indirectly confirms that you provided deliberately false information.

  • It's all good, you could have requested verification with a document, but you can't end up in a situation where you block an account and the money is lost. You refer to compliance with European law in your terms, but that’s a prohibited clause.

So why do you accept payments in crypto?
Why did you start checking my account after the review?
When you asked for an additional payment, everything was fine with the account, right?

What is the name and address of your company?

So you’re verifying me to make sure I don’t magically damage your hardware? lol

If you’re supposedly that afraid, wouldn’t it make more sense to just offer me a refund for the unused time instead of taking that huuuuuuuge risk of hardware damage?
And then what? You’d try to track me down around the world using my documents?

Like I said, you can ask for verification if you want but you can't just steal hundreds of dollars.

You knew he wouldn't share his ID with you and used it as a reason to fuck him up. If you wanted the ID, you should have asked for it from the start instead of allowing crypto payment and only asking for the ID after the money was sent.

@hostiko it seems hostiko.com.ua is down.

edit: it seems your site is actually up but you are dropping connections from certain ip blocks.

No, we did this after he ignored our requests to pay for the service he had previously agreed to. This was necessary to have the possibility to recover his debt. Then, we also noticed that his identity seemed suspicious.
He is manipulating the facts here. Even his chatgpt-generated review on Trustpilot is different (there he says we demanded verification, but here he claims we did it as revenge for the review).

Due to a negative balance or out of fear of damaging the equipment? Sorry, I got lost.

Is there any debt now? There isn’t, and it was paid off before my account was blocked by you. So now you’ve started worrying about damaging the equipment?

    The facts are simple:

    • There is no debt.
    • You have blocked about $300 from the remaining server time.
    • You don't provide company details and you don't follow the laws you refer to in the "terms and conditions'"

I don’t know why you assumed that settling the bill would remove the verification requirement, but in our message a week later it was made perfectly clear: you need to complete verification within 48 hours and settle the negative balance to avoid your services being suspended.

What a waste of time. Make good use of those $300. Remember, dear users, that Hostiko is a company that isn’t really a company, references laws without following them, and can block your paid servers at any moment.

  • @hostiko According to him that money was paid before his account was blocked, so the only reason for the block is ID. you allowed crypto payment and received the money, so you can’t just ask for an ID after receiving crypto while you know he wouldn't do it and can't chargeback.

    Thanked by 3neptanix sucre13 forest
  • these hosts allowing crypto payments then asking for verification only after receiving the money so there is no way to chargeback should be banned from LET

He did not pay the full price for the services because, after he placed the order, we offered him a better server that was not listed on the website and informed him that it would cost more. He agreed, but then began ignoring our messages requesting payment for it.

Yes, but the verification requirement remains in force even if he has paid the debt, because his behavior is suspicious. It is possible that next time he might not pay the debt.

Honestly, I thought that when you mentioned the server being a bit more expensive, it was a gesture on your part for the long wait.
Tell me, what’s the amount of the extra charge? Was it $30? Lol
Aren’t you a prepaid service, like you claimed?

Okay. I get it, so the fact that I paid later is the reason to steal $300?

He did not even tell us why he did not want to settle the debt. He simply ignored us for a week, and the conversation only started after we said that his services would soon be suspended.

You are just a weak "company" without a business and address. One time I waited 5 days for a response to a ticket and I had to remind you 2 or 3 times.

I’ll ask again, what is the name of your company and address?
