Got my "Offer F - F-4". Debian installation went fast. Did not run any benchmarks, but so far seems to perform well. For the money I paid, this is excellent, provided I do not get very "noisy neighbours" and service stays up. :)

Uhm, sorry, but seriously? I mean you do have all the orders and their date. Shouldn't you automagically update the payment date?

No, that's something you should be handling on your side. Your clients shouldn't need to open a ticket to have the payment date updated.

My first impression so far: A very nice VPS which to wait for was worth it.

Obviously it doesn't make much sense to benchmark it right now other than a single run to get a first impression, albeit one that's tainted by everyone and their dog heftily yabsing the nodes.

I myself happen to have a 'F3' VPS and here is what I've seen so far:

    • really decent processor results; not outstandingly high (which may be due to so many yabsing their new VPS). Anyway, really nice and decent performance.
    • the disk is decent as well with nearly 20 MB/s and about 4.5 kIOps (4k/4t wr. seq). Damn good enough for pretty any job except heavy DB loads.
    • connectivity is Europe heavy IMO that is, excellent, really excellent within Europe, and at the mid to upper end of normal for the rest of the world.
    • A somewhat confusing panel (well, at least me). Example: when providing a public key for SSH one doesn't know (nor get via email) the root password; but that may be just me not seeing where to set a root passwd due to being confused by the panel. However, logging in via SSH and said key does work - albeit root only, which IMO is a very much not sensible option.
    • Their templates seem to be decent; it's rare that I see a halfway decent FreeBSD config via template. That said, I would very much prefer to install from an ISO.

All in all a really positive first impression (modulo their confusing control panel), I'm really pleased with what I got - and for a ridiculously low price. Some other providers (hello, @MassiveGrid ...) should learn some basic lessons from @DeluxHost!

  • now i really regret not getting one.

Me too. I am in a constant battle burning me inside: my mind tells me these deals are too good to be true, especially with large quantity and low price, and yet I still want them. It is like I'm programmed to want more.

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback and kind words about our service! We’re really glad to hear that your initial experience with the 'F3' VPS has been positive overall, and that you found both the performance and value to be solid.

We’d like to clarify that the issue you encountered with the SSH key and the absence of a root password was due to a temporary overload on our VPS control panel. A large number of users were simultaneously deploying and configuring their servers, running several tasks at once, which caused a brief blackout in the panel. Fortunately, it was resolved quickly. We apologize for the confusion and are actively working on improving the system's stability during high-demand periods.

As for the slightly lower-than-expected benchmark results, you're absolutely right. With many users running YABS and setting up their environments at the same time, this may have put temporary strain on the nodes. That said, as you mentioned, the performance is still very good and well within acceptable levels for most workloads.

We're happy you noticed the strong connectivity too! This is made possible thanks to our upstream partner Neoprotect and its provider Datacamp, which allow us to deliver excellent coverage across Europe and very competitive global connectivity.

Once again, thank you for your trust and constructive feedback. We'll continue to improve, thanks in part to insights like yours! ❣️

Sorry, nope, wrong. I didn't find the initial experience "positive overall" and the performance and value to be "solid".
I found the experience surprising (in a positive sense) and great, I found the performance really good, in particular in relation to the very low price, and hence found the value exceptional!

In case there still are some available: highly recommended!

  • Thanks for the great VPS deal! I ordered the F-4 on 16th May and received it on 19th May. I’m currently testing the VPS stats, and after that, I’m planning to set up LXD/LXC/Docker. It’s looking great, especially considering the specs-to-price ratio: at 15 EUR (£12.67) yearly, you only get 1 GB RAM elsewhere, but with @DeluxHost, you get 8 GB—what a massive difference!
By the way, I personally really prefer the DeluxHost control panel compared to ArubaCloud. I have two VPS with ArubaCloud: UK-1GB-20SSD-1CPU for 4 EUR monthly (it was 1 EUR in 2020!) and IT-4GB-40GBSSD-2vCPU for 6.29 EUR monthly (been using it for about a month). So, I’m migrating my ArubaCloud IT-VPS over to DeluxHost, and for the ArubaCloud UK-VPS (dedicated to mail server), I’m currently looking for another VPS—probably RackNerd, Clouvider, or NetCup, because of the need for PTR record and SMTP port 25.
@DeluxHost, could I ask: do you guys unblock SMTP port 25 and provide PTR records? I couldn’t find these options in the control panel.

You should just directly stipulate that no refunds are allowed. For products with a 14-day pre-sale period, a 12-hour refund deadline is unreasonable. Who can keep an eye on it all the time and wait for the test to be launched?

@DeluxHost I have an F2. Can I run Mail Server for my own personal domains?

As long as the product is not delivered, you can ask for a refund at any time, we have never denied anyone a refund.
