@HostSlick any reason to stay silent on this? I (and I would assume many others as well) have no problem with delayed delivery (heck since I have so much to do this whole week, any day later is a free extension for my order), but I have to admit that even a short message "might take some additional days" is sufficient enough for everyone to know.

Silent otoh is a little weird, especially when chitchatting after the assumed delivery date in your own thread?
I have been a customer a couple of years ago already, so I'll definitely trust him with everything of that. But I'd admit that it appears unprofessional, for me at least a tad unexpected.

i havent had much time to check the forum. I am sorry.

    Let me explain you.

I was deploying 5x HP C7000 with 16 Blades HP Gen8/9/10 in this week, total 80 blades and delivered 54 of this dedicated servers to customers.
And no this are not this dedicated servers listed on the thread - as those where already ready, racked for deploy.

And some servers are always making problems on first setup until they fixed. I was picking them up by myself at supplier, racking switches, config switches.
Get the dc guys help me to rack this heavy pieces, config VC Modules, config OA. One enclosure not working Modules, so had to dissassemble and unrack again, fix and rack again.
Then some orders i made at the supplier (30min drive from the dc) where screwed and delayed, this, that... no internet some blades, even the VC Module has assigned the network profile correctly. And a whole other. Standard life in hosting Business. Always Problems somewhere

some of this setup blades in the other rack are still blinking yellow... its more work then someone outside can imagine... I say this because reading some users Posts they think i do nothing the whole day or i have alot of time.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/1t-381wrEJY?feature=share
(this are 32 blades, 2x of those c7000s said above)

And then general work. All kinds, inquires, tickets, administrative work. Few days ago we got informed about maintenance on the dark fiber path to NIKHEF Amsterdam we use for our GTT links, so i had to test also redundancy and check if router will use skylink transit when dwdm to Amsterdam go dead - which will happen this night, read https://hostslick.com/clients/announcements/84/Dark-Fiber-Maintenance-on--Thursday-May-8-2025.html

    About the sale
from the 63 orders of this thread, ive delivered first 21.

It might take some more time for some orders indeed because i havent heard from the other supplier yet about the other part of HDD shipment.
I Think though this might be all solved arround monday/tuesday. Tomorrow is friday, ... weekends we all know nothing happens.
If i dont hear today end of the day i will order hdds elsewhere.
please note this was a pre-sale, so other then the Servers itself, the hdds were just ordered when amount of orders determinated.

I thought i will have this in time but i was wrong, sorry. The week before i started this promo even, there was alot of silence
Now alot of work came. But i assure i do work on it,

Very sorry for the delay :disappointed:

For best results, if pre-sale servers are not delivered by Tuesday please update. Don't leave us in the dark to draw our own conclusions.

Also, whoever has one deployed please do us a good service and post a yabs.

This is why you want to promise 14 business days instead of a hard deadline. That gives you a lot more time to deal with unexpected events. And if you deliver earlier then the customers will be happy!
To the 21 lucky fellas who got delivered early: WHERE IS MY YABS!?

random hardware porn from last days during the wait time

  • @HostSlick I can't find my order, or even the ticket I raised. What's going on?

Have other brothers encountered this problem?

  • @HostSlick didn't expect such a lengthy response. Glad it's just a technical/delivery problem, and not something different/severe (e.g. health related)
Keep up the good work! I'd rather have some delayed functional server than future unplanned maintenances or downtimes, especially for this price/performance ratio ;)

Mine is still available as "Status pending".
Thanks for providing info about the delay.

  • @HostSlick Will you extend the end date of the service by one week for the customers that were not yet deployed, or we just lost one week time of service without compensation?

Right, right. I’ll be here in a couple months when dude deadpools.

I’ve got around 44 servers with this guy and have been waiting about two weeks for three more to be delivered. He can be a bit slow sometimes, but he always gets the job done. It’s just one guy running everything, and he’s one of the few who I actually stay in touch with through chat so I know what he does behind the scenes. You would wanna see how hard he works, late nights at the data center, staying in hotels for the passed 2 weeks, waiting for hardware deliveries, setting things up himself. Just last night, he sent me pictures and videos of over 30 blades he was setting up by hand and transporting in his own car. People need to understand that he also handles custom orders and builds special blade servers for other hosting companies. I do notice he’s slower when it comes to VPS orders or the special deals posted on LET, but that’s not my concern. From what I’ve seen, he focuses more on blade servers and the bigger market he has multiple providers that have servers and depend on him, and I’ll guarantee you he’s not short on money and dead pooling is out of any scenario. He’s been expanding capacity and investing and those that know him personally will know how things evolved in the last year alone. Things that many don’t have any idea what’s going on behind on the scenes. Many people have insisted he hire a tech team to help with support, but he seems to prefer doing everything himself. Honestly, he could easily support himself just by selling dedicated servers alone and still, I strongly agree, if he’s going to offer VPS deals, he should improve his support or be more communicative but that’s kinda difficult when he’s working at the same time but he may need to sort that part and take it seriously sooner or later as it’s one of the only negatives that’s pulling him down whilst his services are very premium.

    BLAH BLAH BLAH...
He's dealing with thousands of servers and thousands of customers. If he can't afford to hire employees, it only reinforces the argument that Deadpool is inevitable.

I know that Germans need to specify the sexual preference in every job offer. Such as "I'm looking to hire a tech support guy person he they need to be a male who has sex with males" and such.

Good luck putting up with that.

In conclusion, you don't know what you're talking about.

Gender-neutral words for professional job titles don't exist in Germany, however you're not allowed to discriminate in job listings whatsoever. Same for every developed country in the world, as it should be.

You definitely don't state who you desire your employees to fuck nor ask them who they fuck. The only thing that matters is how they assist the company and directly relevant information.

But all of that distracts from the reality that @HostSlick couldnt afford to hire Western talent and the bigotry was easier for him.

Indian call centers may close 43 tickets but they will close tickets without resolving them properly, since they are only obsessed with boosting their “tickets closed” count as their performance metric. My work’s “IT support” is simply an Indian call center and they repeatedly ask “can I close this ticket” every minute regardless if the matter is solved or not. Only when we get a hold of an IT person in the USA do problems actually get fixed.

My family is part Indian and they also hate Indian call centers so I’m not being racist. A spade is a spade no matter it’s origin or whatever. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. That golden rule never changes.

Of course i cant. Im a very small business with almost arround 500 Servers only. I make after all Costs only 17-25k Profit per Month after all Costs and taxes and need to throw some or Most into new Hardware. I dont feel like i can Take The responsibility for someone and his Family yet. So hiring a company for Outsourcing to solve a Problem is The Most easiest indeed.

The Juniper MX960 i bought October example. This device all alone with line cards was 30k just to meet demand in future to handle loads of Traffic.

Now we have 3x100G GTT and another Juniper QFX running in nikhef in Addition besides Datacenter upstream

Also Racks are full, and i Need to make Money next months to reinvest so i can buy even more Servers when i go and take another full row of Racks, so i can buy loads and loads more.
Then when i have loads , i can make more more more to be able to Invest into newer Hardware in Bulk.

But there is alot of much smaller then me. Do you think they do this fulltime on their own? No. I can tell you Bunch of names which have a fulltime job besides their Hosting. Basically alot are side Business.

I Myself i am self employeed since a year now. I also had a fulltime job Still.
Im trying to make the best i can to build up something.

You are right in this. Many people here on LET think Providers make shit tons.

Its not that easy as someone Imagine.
I also Need to eat. Living expenses.

Maybe after second row of Racks are filled can hire Western people and pay properly

Then you should increase your prices to above deadpool tier. €60 a year for 5 TB of storage makes you little money, so why even offer it? Do €70 or €80? That’s still a decent price while also providing cash flow to keep your business running. People want cheap deals but also want the provider to remain in business.

Sometimes it’s too expensive to be cheap, and there have been many previous hosts that offered way too cheap deals only to vanish the next day, hence the antagonism here.

Your price should reflect the cost of the service plus a margin to pay your salary and cover future investments in your business. There are people willing to pay higher prices for quality service.

Im working on Support Outsourcing in India with a Partner. Talk in end June or July should be going. Things are taking but its planned and under work to be contracted

You say this as if it develops confidence 💀

A German who can’t even properly write English trying to outsource to India. What can go wrong?

german support team too busy attending diversity webinar, indian team already resolved 43 tickets and meditate after

I know that Germans need to specify the sexual preference in every job offer. Such as "I'm looking to hire a tech support guy person he they need to be a male who has sex with males" and such.

Good luck putting up with that.

just to kind of echo on this, i would 100% pay more than this for this product. possibly he is selling himself short, not sure how others feel but demand was high and this sold out. if he's scraping by and selling out then he's doing the customers here a massive favor and even sort of charity at that point

So to be clear it’s a week past the delivery date and we don't have a single confirmed delivery or benchmark.

A couple of stories and pictures, though. Go figure.
