Because if the yabs come maybe not a whole lot of people buy the spinning rust.

If it’s any decent, I’ll be the first to buy. But history says otherwise. I want to give them a chance though.

SSDs for the OS where made for a reason. You Had some deal from 2023 i assume? Epyc hosted at worldstream? They where truly not as good as the current ones also Offered on black friday 2024.
And i Had No complaints in support Tickets compared to The said rented Epyc storage nodes from worldstream had only a big HDD array

We Host this one in our Colocation and the storage is to be mounted seperately now while OS and everything is on The SSD RAID Array. This way it completely behave Different.
As for yabs this is a pre-sale as stated. The Hardware is under Setup.

Surely Someone else or me will post a yabs when It Happens

We have Epycs too in our own Location but currently alot of demand on them on dedicated Servers and we work to move over remaining worldstream rented nodes to Epyc in our Location. So maybe on next Offers.

From this FIO results it seems like your bootdisk is also HDD like mine. Hopefully the all-rounder box will have SSD bootdisk! @HostSlick

19 mins. That’s nuts. I’m wary because my last machine couldn’t handle a basic cloudron install. It was supposed to be beefy. I was told it is what it is.

Me, hence why I loved the HostBrr storage deals.

File compression on a storage server is fitting because it… saves storage. I don’t like having to keep a whole separate compute VPS for that.

Having said that, the CPU doesn’t have to be super powerful, but reasonably decent and have generous AUP usage limits.
