As someone mentioned already, we are also doing a giveaway for Hetzner Cloud customers to celebrate our new cloud location in Singapore
You need to have a Hetzner Cloud account to participate in the chance to win one of these prizes: LEGO® Hero, a LEGO® DC model or some of our cool merchandise. --Katie

This is cute! Good giveaway. :)

  • But the Price..

  • I know bandwidth is expensive in Singapore but hot damn the price...
Will there be the intel CPU variant in future? if so, this year or next?

Looks like the IPv6 geo-location is still on Germany. Maybe @Hetzner_OL you can ask your team to fix this.

We don't publish roadmaps of new products/features/locations/etc. that we have planned. However, I can add a +1 for you for this for our customer wishlist. --Katie

  • Support pooled bandwidth @Hetzner_OL ?

  • @beanman109 said: Can't wait for you guys to get hit with the highly informative "Hi there, I reached out to one of my colleagues about your account. Unfortunately we cannot accept your account. I hope that you can find another provider who can help you as this is our final decision" after you provide proof of physical ID & every form of verification under the sun they could ask for.

    Yes, you are proven right

  • As a Hetzner customer, its been a frustating couple of days dealing with random packet loss (in FSN.)

Hetzner network team acknowledged the issue, which is outgoing DDoS attacks that are maxing the switch uplinks.

On one side, I want to see Hetzner succeed and attract new customers, but on the other hand, want them to step up their verification/kyc process to reduce this issues.

I am for the frustration @nanankcornering. This is exactly why we try to be very careful about new accounts, some people (perhaps @warih and @beanman109) would say we are overly careful.
We are constantly working to improve our KYC process. It can be difficult to find that sweet spot between being overly cautious and not cautious enough. Please rest assured that our abuse/network teams are hard at work to deal with any abuse they encounter. --Katie

  • Congratulations Hetzner for reaching Asia!

They are among some of the strictest in KYC and verification, even AWS usually requires less. It’s unlikely that it is the cause of the problem.

can't think of any reason other than ddos/abuse. the packet loss is happening within their internal network

Is that a "not that bad", like from a stoic opponent in a 1980s movie who's also slow-clapping...? --Katie

Sounds more like a "at least I still have a kidney left" "not that bad" to me!

Nice! Keep the locations coming. Hopefully, you'll have London next. Really hope you introduce managed Kubernetes and databases soon

  • Hetzner SG doesn't look like using SG.GS anymore. It seems to be primarily using ViewQuest and NTT.

Well, SG.GS quality has dropped a lot.

  • Never had a chance to try Hetzner. My account was blocked after 20 seconds of registering.

Hi there @boxhan39 -- You can write a DM to us and give us your account number or email address that you used for creating the account. We will then ask a colleague to check on the account for you.

    Tips:

Yes, somewhere in my student days in 2015, I used hetzner and still owed $0.02 but now I can't log back into my account to pay, I tried to contact them and they sent some payment information that is not supported in Vietnam, even though I wanted to use this side but it was crazy, while in a similar case I went to Vultr and owed and could still pay the debt and create a new server

good luck, you're a high risk criminal now in germany. may as well go there and recycle glass on a sunday morning before 7am (i fully expect my hetzner account to be banned for life for this comment)

@tiendungdev -- Hmm. I'm a bit confused by some of what you wrote. In 2015, we did not yet have our cloud products or hourly payment, so I am curious how you were able to have a €0.02 invoice. That didn't start until 2018. When we first started our Cloud servers, we needed to be careful with new accounts where people made late payments because there was a rush of new accounts and we were trying very hard to prevent abuse. Regardless, we have made some improvements to our billing in the meantime. I believe customers now only receive a monthly invoice if it is over €5. Otherwise, it skips over to the next month.
With late payments, we generally ask customers to pay via bank/wire transfer.
I cannot promise anything, but if you would like to try to create a new account, it might be worth a try. We have some tips posted on reddit for things that will help with account verification. --Katie

I don't know the exact time but I contacted to reopen the account and pay but your side insisted on paying 0.02$ to reopen the account : ))

I appreciate your service and have no opinion about locking the account when there is still debt, however, making payments from Vietnam to international is very difficult, I mostly pay for international services via Paypal and Visa, I don't remember how I paid before but I tried to create a new account and pay for the service and KYC but the account was locked, if possible I will send the information via inbox for you to check
