im no provider but if ftp storage can be public someone is really amateur there. but it could be me.
Trying to be completely fair and giving @CharityHost_org the absolute benefit of the doubt. Let's say everything they said was 100% true. After reading though this, here is my take away:
What you SHOULD have done is contact the customer, explain the issue, and he would have told you he was using it for private storage and likely didn't understand it was accessible in the clear. You should have worked with him to remediate it and then looked at how the default ftp settings and docs work on your side to make sure that customers that aren't as savvy don't fill up their public_html folders with private stuff. Dust off your hands and know you actually serviced your customers well for a change.
As a complete side note though, sometimes I wonder how I as a person am able to run a business and maintain the lifestyle I do for my family, then I read stuff like this and jesus christ I would never act so emotionally in public to my customers. It's absolute insanity how many fully grown adults cant separate their emotions from business and try to actually build something. @CharityHost_org EVERYTHING you did here just screams you don't want business. I could have ended this post on the first page with the info above and a little logic, but you just blamed people and pretended to be attacked. grow up. this is not rocket surgery.

First of all, @CharityHost_org gets enough business from ministry, churches (as per their own statement) so OP like customers are not their priority. They have built an image of "charity" so my guess is, they have a pretty strong reputation in niche market (but big market) which are not penetrated by other hosting sites that easily. In short, they would probably like if OP goes away from their site.
Secondly, if someone is providing a private ftp access, then public access should be disabled by default. It is there only because you are using a panel in order to provide the ftp access, that also comes with shared hosting. If still you want to go ahead, then keep a text file naming it, "DON'T UPLOAD HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT PUBLIC TO SEE YOUR FILES!"
at least a few from the crowd could understand what that means and prevent these issues.
Yeah kinda my point, they coulda used it as a learning opportunity and made their solution more robust rather than making it drama. This was easy to diffuse.

since its named ftp storage account and provide a dummy domain, i though it is only access able to via ftp. I never though public_html folder would make any fact. even i read the and understand the tos and aup , then i would know the issue will started when he didn't give me warning and 48 hours.
How did you Upload the files? An ftp client will always show what dir you're uploading to. If you could ONLY upload to public, that's on the provider.
If you could change dir and you still uploaded to public, that's on you.
since this thread become popular for few days, i think i should make a final statement here. at first, i am posting my ticket video screen record from charityhost to understand very clearly what we talked.

I Got ftp storage account with dummy domain(ftp.myname.com) so i though it is only for private use. so i stored it in public_html folder. after 40 days, i got a suspension email. after 2 day, i opened this ticket, asked for backup if unsuspend is not possible and got replied to pay 25$. so i asked him here in DM though he would consider as a let user. but same answer so i opened this ticket. here a lot of smart guys got the point which i missed. we asked him how he know i host porn, he said he scanned public_html folder but at last he said he checked it because of disk is showing full. When i got suspension email, my first though was he notice me because of full disk and my though is right. at first, he show arrogant by calling all troller and he never admit his mistake. thats why i asked for suspend his provider tag. when he unsuspend me and give me time to take backup i though he realize his mistake and honestly i appreciate if he try to fix his mistake and admit his mistake. but today i saw his ticket is closed after saying i violated the tos twice. i admitted i violated first one > "Host adult content/pornographic material." but i dont agree with that i violated the second one. > "Disparage, tarnish, or harm us or the Services." By such allegation, i think he is still arrogant about his mistake and he dont think he made a mistake. if he dont feel guilty for violating users privacy, i think i should stay on my demand to @DP @armandorg and other admin team for his provider suspension. since he didn't suspend me, i think he shouldn't be banned here.
my reputation is destroyed here by saying i store 500gb porn, but i took risk only for get justice. if you people think i dont deserve justice in this case then i will ask for close the topics. my loss is already been done. reputation is much more valuable then 500gb porn, but i prefer honesty and justice should be serve by all to all.
