Wheres my dedi
Did you go Xeons or 8500/9500t?
Xeon, bought during BF.
BF??? its April now
Late BF or Christmas, forgot the exact timing but ya... I don't mind waiting a bit longer but this few days have been quite stressed and trying to find something positive and entertainment but I just failed to find anything.
You and me both
0/3 btw
check my signature for a masterpiece...
Sigh! I watched it a few years ago.😔
truly a movie of all time...
Seems to be a good companion movie to Grave of the Fireflies (1988).
If price is good I’d be ok personally with the single drive.
Are people building their current dedi’s with raid 1, 0 or none? (Assuming 95% of people have just the two identical NVMe).
just saw this
depends really, i feel like most people buy i5/i7 dedi for the iGPU transcoding so without a large primary disk or something bulky to store some media on it forces you to remote mount which would deter some folks
$5/m 6700t when?
My use case was to do that sort of thing too, so in some ways capacity is king. Personally not planning to do anything critical on there at this time.
So for me a smallish OS drive and an option then for a few TB of SSD would work. But other peoples use case may be different.
Regarding my use case, I haven’t looked at the iGPU (530) on that CPU but.
I have a 6700T at home, it kills 1080P transcode as expected but struggles on 4K, could only push 30fps on some of the nicer codecs
8th gen is when the iGPU game started to pick up, my i5-8250u with the 620 iGPU is significantly better
Oh nice, might upgrade mine to 32G
Is this regarding the network improvement? @ZachNuyek
Hey everyone, I just sent out a email for some emergency equipment maintenance from our upstream.
Starts: 11:30PM CST - 4/3/2025
Ends: 6:00 AM CST - 4/4/2025
Total: 6.5 hours
It will be a few brief outages but not a continuous outage.
I just noticed I put 12 in the title but it's 11:30 sorry. ( 30 minutes earlier ) I'm very tired right now lol
@lala_th no this is a different, just got the notification a little ago.
I was looking at some stuff and noticed some wonky stuff with the firewall NIC, so more to come
Thanks for the heads up
yw
@ZachNuyek I saw your email, is the upgrade of the network starting?Or is it just routine maintenance?
Damn… I won too big with the OVH lottery yesterday…
Anyone wants a 9500t with 32GB RAM which renews for ~$123?
Stop showing off
Just routine
Much better than this. At least I saw it.
E-2288G + 128G DDR4 RAM + 2 X 1.92T NVME + 10G port
Epyc7351+ 128G DDR4 RAM + 2 X 1.92T NVME + 10G port
Now I understand why your site isn't loading either. I guess it's general maintenance.
Well, I'll wait until everything's okay and I'll be back using my little VPS in a few hours.
Thanks for the heads up.
Interested, if you're serious. Drives upgraded too?
