@OBHost
90% off is extremely generous and I'm not surprised they want to increase the price. Almost certainly their TOS (and common sense) says they can increase the price for the next renewal period.
It's weird for hosts to offer such large discounts and then expect people to stick with it once the next year rolls around. If it's a 20% increase you might be tempted to pay the increased price rather than migrate, but for 90% off and a customer paying $10 per year, do they really expect them to stay at 10x the price?
Personally, I would 110% expect for a service at a 90% discount to go up in price the next billing cycle. Unless the product makes 1000+% profit margin, they're not making money on it, so naturally they would want to increase it to start making money on all the customers they garnered.
Anyway, looks like you've got until November before that bill comes around.
I can't believe it. A 1,000% price increase. @OBHost
Then say its not recurring.
The coupon code says it's recurring. They put those words in there.
This is a clear breach of contract.
To be fair it has been recurring for 5 years. A price increase is to be expected sooner or later. But this is something else.
That's why I'm not a fan of unsustainable deals.
The support response is wrong.
They removed the discount, otherwise they increased the price from $100/year to $1000/year.
Just migrate services, this is a red flag that it's going downhill from there.
Five years are good; it's difficult to expect "forever".
im not buying from such hosters as a matter of principle
Hi everyone,
I just came across these comments and wanted to clarify a few things. The promotion ran for four years as a recurring offer, and we were happy to provide our services at just $10 per year throughout this period.
We understand that sudden pricing changes can be concerning, and we truly appreciate your support over the years. If you have any concerns or need assistance, feel free to send me your ticket number via PM—I’d be happy to help.
Thank you for being a valued part of OBHost!
Did you send any notification to clients who received this promotion, or did you just edit their services and remove their promotion code?
Every normal hosting companies would send an email notification informing customers that their price will change and offer them a time to switch to other hosting.
Extremely greedy provider silently changes renewal price without sending notices.
When the invoice generates, the email is magically lost.
The customer only finds out about the invoice when the server is auto-suspended and must pay renewal fee at full price in order to unsuspend.
At least data wasn't snooped on
cough cough CharityHost
Lmao -90% rec.
Nice offer
OBhost even changed the 6G memory to 4G

@OBHost please shrink the diks as well, without notice of course.
truncate -s 50G vps12.vmdk
@OBHost 3 years ago you said want to change to Kvm and ditch OpenVZ.
I guess that never happened.
Forgive my reading, OP has a point 😆
Time to update my ToS and add "recurring coupons are valid for 3 years only"
Hi everyone,
I appreciate feedbacks from you all and understand your concerns regarding the pricing changes.
To clarify, the promotion was offered as a recurring discount for four years, during which we provided services at an exceptionally low cost. However, due to increasing operational expenses, we had to make adjustments. We acknowledge that better communication could have helped, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Regarding notifications, we did send out notifications as per our standard process. However, if anyone missed their invoice email or faced unexpected service changes, please send me your ticket number via PM. We will review each case and see how we can assist you fairly.
We value our customers and always strive to offer reliable services. If you have any suggestions or need assistance, we’re here to help.
Was it stated anywhere that it was 4 years?
Hi,
Whenever we release a promotion, we always mention its expiry date. In this case, the recurring promotion was clearly set to run for four years. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out via PM with your ticket number.
Thanks
And Again,
At OBHost, we’ve been a dedicated hosting company for over 8 years—this isn’t just a seasonal operation or a game of “penny promotion marketing plays.” We pride ourselves on providing professional, reliable services to our valued customers.
But if you find any difficulties or If you have any issues or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly with your ticket number, and I’ll do my best to assist.
Thanks

Yeah, am I blind or does it not say 4 years promo?
Does this mean that you just allowed the invoice emails to go out? Did you specifically contact customers mentioning about the price increase? (not just the updated invoice emails)
I can understand costs go up, but adding the 90% back on is a bit harsh.
Hi,
We understand your concern. The renewal invoices were sent as part of our standard process, but we acknowledge that a separate price change notification could have been helpful. We appreciate the feedback and will ensure better communication in the future.
Regarding the pricing, we kept the promotional rate active for four years, which is far beyond what most promotions typically offer. If you have any concerns about your service, feel free to send me your ticket number, and I’ll see what I can do to assist.
Thanks
I think that the problem is that the four-year limit wasn't announced at the time of the promotion, so how could anyone know about the four-year limit?
