    What?
That's not my experience. Those who say "recurring" usually stick with the price. That's what recurring means, unless the host clearly states that the deal is time limited.

As an example, RamNode clearly stated that the discounted pricing is valid for 3 years, so people who are looking for recurring deals didn’t waste their time there.

  • Tell me "recurring" in English

    Hi,

We always mention the duration of our promotions, and this recurring offer was valid for four years. We’re confident we communicated this, but if we missed any announcement, let us know your order number, and we’ll review it fairly.

    Thanks

Listen, honestly I understand that costs are through the roof and the deal is unsustainable. Just say we are discontinuing the service and send a coupon for 50% off our other offers or something.

It's a lot better than saying a recurring coupon is not actually recurring but 4 years only, after the fact.

Someone already kindly linked the offer post so you can see for yourself no limit was included, but I'm also curious about the secret change of resources (6gb ram -> 4gb ram) someone else mentioned.

Mind you I'm not a customer so don't feel obliged to answer me, I was concerned you were missing some details in the thread.

@OBHost said: Regarding notifications, we did send out notifications as per our standard process. However, if anyone missed their invoice email..

Does this mean that you just allowed the invoice emails to go out? Did you specifically contact customers mentioning about the price increase? (not just the updated invoice emails)

I can understand costs go up, but adding the 90% back on is a bit harsh.

    Hi,

We understand your concern. The renewal invoices were sent as part of our standard process, but we acknowledge that a separate price change notification could have been helpful. We appreciate the feedback and will ensure better communication in the future.

Regarding the pricing, we kept the promotional rate active for four years, which is far beyond what most promotions typically offer. If you have any concerns about your service, feel free to send me your ticket number, and I’ll see what I can do to assist.

    Thanks

.... Nope nope..... You shouldn't include other mature providers along with you and drag along.

    • There are many providers who respects the promises that were made.
    • There were many who take refugees in to their umbrella even when promises were not made by the new providers themselves.

So DO NOT think that everyone follows your policy.

You HAD TO end in 4 years BECAUSE you made UNSUSTAINABLE offers. Most providers wouldn't do that in the first place.

It is only in your head that a recurring promotional offer doesn't last after a year or two.

then don't write it as recurring but only for 4 years

Be honest in what you offer.

    Hi,

We understand your frustration, but let’s be clear—every provider operates differently, and we’ve always been transparent about our promotions. We had this recurring discount for four years, and that’s it. If it were unsustainable, we wouldn’t have honored it for that long.

We respect other providers’ policies, just as we stand by our own. If you have a genuine concern about your service, send your order number, and we’ll review it fairly. Otherwise, stop dragging this.

    Hi,

We’re already assisting customers in the best possible way, whether by continuing the same pricing or offering discounts on other packages, for those who reach out after receiving the price change notification.

If anyone has concerns, the best way to resolve them is by contacting support rather than discussing them here. Feel free to send me your order number, and I’ll be happy to see what can be done.

  • Please, administrators/moderators must uphold justice and prevent other providers from doing this again.

Em... I don't think administrators/moderators have the obligations to regulate the providers' actions.

  • What's the story on the 6gb to 4gb RAM? Did that really happen, if so why?

  • I've known OBHost from the days where they were reselling OVH servers and doing VPS giveaways on Facebook.
I remember being offered a VPS for 1 month if I gave away my Facebook alt account, for whatever reason. Good old days. Surprised they haven't deadpooled because they seemed like another summer host back in the day.

I think that the problem is that the four-year limit wasn't announced at the time of the promotion, so how could anyone know about the four-year limit?

Exactly, I'm still trying to find where it states that the promotion is valid for only four years.

    Hi,

For the past four years, we’ve been offering this service in Germany and Canada, but the mentioned order is in the Netherlands. I’m not aware of any changes from 6GB to 4GB, as nothing can be modified without notification. It’s possible that the customer or support team handled a location-based adjustment.

    Hi,

It’s interesting to see how far we’ve come from those early days. We’ve been operating for over eight years and continue to serve long-term customers who trust our services.

    Hi,

Regarding the promotion, This promotion started in 2021, and over time, operations and promotional guidelines evolve. While I don’t have data on where the expiry was specifically mentioned, we’ve always adhered to our promotions as announced. If there was any confusion, we’re happy to check individual cases—just share your order number, and we’ll see what can be done fairly.

again, where does it say that in the offer. you are obliged to prove it. so far this proof is missing. merely claiming that it is so is never proof.
