Cloudflare loses over US$100M annually.
Oracle is big enough to absorb the cost of their free tier, which also has a higher bar to entry and limited availability.
That’s my point. Those big boys do not care for money, they care for headcount. Because at the end of a day, they eventually close the trap and feast. Until than, money is not a problem.
i havent read their full latest statements but perhaps them spending $730Mn on marketing&sales (51% of total revenue) has more to do with their losses than them offering a free tier (which they include in operating expenses)
Guess Path's UK company is going to be gone soon: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13298176
did they give up on APAC?
Edward "Big Balls" Coristine, 19 year old previously fired from Path for leaking, is now a senior adviser at the state department.

Total Journalist Death.
Paths updated their PeeringDB but hasn't removed old facilities, only added new (as far as I can tell)

Looks like they cleaned up their upstream list, looks cleaner now.
And their IX list was cleaned up, half of their capacity gone
Well, I think over half. Maybe over 60% gone.
Maybe they cannot handle large attacks now
I noticed that they keep buying 5 star reviews on "some site"
Probably depends on the location but I doubt they still have all the capacity they had before.
Proof?
after got lots of one star reviews, some of 5 star comes this week. And the account who give 5 star looks like new account and only review path and tempest on "review site"
Four 5 star reviews starting March 7th, considering the last one was in November 2024 is indeed suspicious.
Although, these don't really look like bots, more like just alt accounts.

Yeah that is just cringe, probably employees.
Looks like it has all settled down and this is the end result.

Sucks to suck. Delegated to meme tier now. Don't think they will be finding any investors anytime soon. Wonder how long they will last without the clients they once had.
Ha, so they have not flopped? You have to admire resiliency, the pressure was insane.
Correct and that was expected.
the cockroach of the hosting industry, nothing will kill it
Always getting money some way or another 😂
Anyone else miss the days when Path still had Telia/Arelion?
Great, he can leak on the Dogs shenanigans.
Path still reports having more IXes than they actually do/are connected to (https://as396998.net/)
Down: LINX LON1, FL-IX, LONAP
Rest appear up, ~810Gbps of capacity at IXes rather than the 1.11Tbps claimed there. Doubt they've got 11Tbps of transit so I wonder what their capacity is in this aftermath.
Claimed "2500+ peers" is 131 in reality.

PCCW seems to have dropped Path as well now in USA. GTT is single homed now in USA and in some european locations.
Singapore and Tokyo offline for 3 months now. Their excuse is that they are waiting on transit ports, for over 3 months now?
I wonder whats happening with PHX. I doubt they've got the hardware back.
I forgot about that... Phoenix is still down (3 months) and most likely PhoenixNap is holding their hardware. Imagine being a Tempest customer and still have no idea what happend to your data in Singapore, Tokyo and Phoenix...
