Sorry to interrupt but when will VirtFusion provide users with the ability to manage (add and remove) custom IPv6 addresses, as is currently possible with SolusVM?
Yeah, people want ::babe, ::cafe & ::b00b, not ::a, ::b, ::c, ... ::1, ::2, ...
::c0ca:c0ca:c0ca
While I don't really care about that in the panel, it might become important once @NDTN finally supports Reverse DNS records for IPv6 (as I am assuming that will then also be handled via the panel - and if I can't assign a custom IPv6 in the first place, I'll likely then not be able to set the Reverse DNS record).
You mean this? https://s3-eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/ntgm4djpn0k5p4iwzrybwibd9jextfht0uydeqr43imau0tzvsv/PfcJvfUwwFaHm3wYwuW2gaZyl.mp4#ff1bcc5a36a48074c3a9ab64ffa4884919cf9da0c9babc6d6f4702b1a72c60d2
Yeah, when please?
Shouldn’t be long. It can go out in a minor release.
@VirtFusion - thanks for the soon-to-be-released IPv6 custom address selection fixes. This is really useful and long overdue.
On a related note, since you're "listening" and watching here, could you consider:
Providing templates with the default FS of distributions (e.g Debian's default FS is EXT4 but you seem to supply templates with XFS). One of the advantages of using EXT4 is that it is possible resize (without having to reinstall manually) and you get the freedom to repartition and use LVM and/or XFS for the other partition(s).
Specifically, I hope an EXT4 based Debian 12 (minimal) template can also be made available.
also not 4GB swap for debian 12 template? when the ram is only 2GB for example
Is it possible to add upload custom iso option in the future release?
I have built my custom iso. For it to work on VF I have to set up a web server, add ssl cert to it, upload to the server then download on VF control panel
Thanks you!
Since many of us grabbed a lot of new VPS from top provider sale, would you consider adding an option to enable internal network/private network interface? It's going to be especially helpful for mounting a storage VPS to more powerful VPS/VDS.
Maybe I should cc @VirtFusion as well
We are currently testing the private network in VirtFusion. It’s working well so far, but we will need additional time for testing and to collaborate with VirtFusion on implementing it properly before releasing it to end users.
Good to know private network is in the works. Hoping storage plan in more locations is coming
@NDTN i got an email - Scheduled Migration for SG DC1
Can i get a test IP? Support says they can't provide any test IP. There are concerns that the new routing might not be as good as the current one.
The current xTom blend in SG is weak compared to CDN77. They only have NTT and PCCW while CDN77 has those plus five more. @xTom has stated that they plan to replace with the more premium GSL IP transit in March.
That itself should provide considerably better routing than CDN77 in most cases, especially for egress. Assuming GSL becomes the primary upstream. https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4325635/#Comment_4325635
I managed to find the gateway IP for xtom sg, NTT and PCCW sucks. The ping is 4x what cdn77 was. If they really do switch to GSL that would be nice, hosthatch uses GSL as well and has great connectivity. I hope this doesn't become a bait and switch. @NDTN would appreciate if you can clear the air on this matter.
We dont have Test IP/Looking Glass for the new SG DC1 yet. As borkedascii mentioned, @xTom will add GSL in March to the current blend.
We have arrived in Singapore to prepare for the data center migration scheduled for tomorrow. All updates will be posted here: https://greencloudvps.com/billing/serverstatus.php.
New features, including private networking, additional resources, and more, will be available in Singapore following the migration.
Thank you!
Good luck!

Exciting
Didn't expect you'd be physically in Singapore, I was under the impression that providers usually just engage remote hands. Good luck and hope it'll be a smooth migration! Will there also be a @FAT32 meetup?
For a single server setup, we would rely on remote hands. However, for a data center migration, we prefer to handle it ourselves to minimize downtime. I, along with two other technicians and the data center’s on-site tech, will be available to complete this task. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly, and we’ll have enough time afterward to enjoy a coffee with @FAT32.
Today, we completed the addition of more nodes to Singapore DC2, performed various maintenance tasks, and carried out pre-cabling for the new DC1. A storage node with VirtFusion and NVMe boot drives has also been installed in the new DC1.
Do you need someone to make it more challenging? You can find me but I have zero experience
Sure, just let me know when you can be present at Global Switch Tai Seng tomorrow, and I’ll add you as an additional technician.
that means we have storage node at SG again ?
