Well no spamming for y'all anymore.
Anyone using llama ai models instead of chatgpt?

I did try but didn't see much benefit  any reason for using this, I do try them time by time because of their new updates their 3.3 70b was equivalent to 3.1 405b right? that was quite shocking indeed

Well im currently llama 3.1 8b, but i really want to try that 70b model.
Running 7b model on my contabo vps results in 1-2 tokens/s.

BTW did you try phi-4 its quite good too

I have been trying to get Whisper to work for 3 days now. I have never used it, but, every API call ends in a Billing hard limit reached. I can't even send a single request to the endpoint to test it out. Only gpt4o-mini works for me, as a free user.

where are you getting the free api from?

Everyone has got the same question. Let's see what Dustin says and see if there are any changes announced by the staff. Anyways, I am just glad to be able to post back on this thread.
For me, it's like being back home :)

Howdy -- there's always going to be movement and changes, but we do very well here, we create positive impact to the community, and in fact, we're always giving back, whether that is through paid ads on LET/LEB, providing free contributed content to LEB, providing endless/recurring giveaways on LET (outside of threads) and of course as we all come to know, MANY giveaways within our own threads!

We've built a solid reputation over the years, we're a community favorite (multi-year voted top LET provider by the community). RackNerd has also been voted by the community as #1 Most Professional Provider. On top of that RackNerd has gained tremendous growth and obtain achievements on Inc. 5000. No. 1506 on the 2024 Inc. 5000 list (ranking #16 in the telecommunications sector and #58 on the 2024 Inc. 5000 Regionals Pacific list)

We're thankful for the community, our valued customers, and all of RackNerd's supporters. We'll continue to give back. Let's partyyyyy on B)

Some providers are REALLY rude and disrespectful -- I wonder how they get customers being like that?

Hi @DeusVult -- it's quite unfortunate to see this happening within our industry. Customer service is often overlooked, yet it's one of the most crucial aspects of running a successful hosting business. We've built our reputation on not just delivering solid performance, but also on being responsive and treating our customers with respect.

At the end of the day, providers who treat their customers poorly usually don't make it for the long haul. We've seen this time and time again. Support tickets, inquiries, feedback - these are all opportunities to help our customers succeed, not obstacles to be dismissed :)

Hi @noob404 -- it's actually been quite productive! We've been busy expanding, delivering solid services, and have our eyes set on some interesting projects. Growth has been amazing, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support we've received from the community.

How about yourself? Hope your New Year has been treating you well :)

Very good to hear, Dustin. BTW, you talk of expanding, and I have an urge to ask you of any plans to expand to Asia. There's been quite some demand for RackNerd's Singaporean VPS. Any plans?

As for my NY, so far, it hasn't gone to plan IRL :(

I noticed on lowendbox that Colocrossing is opening up a new location in Los Angeles. Hopefully Racknerd will stay at Multacom.

Howdy, RackNerd doesn’t have any intentions of moving away from Multacom. Multacom is sold out in 707, and recently expanded in DRT which is already at capacity so we’ve placed a large order that is helping anchor additional space. So growth continues there too.

I will say, we are exploring additional presence with ColoCrossing newest's LA facility - I recently toured the facility with Jon, seen all the possibilities, and have engaged already with colocation growth for RackNerd’s business, as we do have a lot of colocation demand, and on top of that, bare metal. Diversity doesn’t hurt so let’s keep this thing growing 👊

BTW, i stumbled on this regarding minecraft.. Racknerd has a guide to setup minecraft server on a vps so they must be ok with the cpu and resource usage it has :)

I only host 5 people max, usually only 1 or 2 people on.. CPU hovers around 30% when 2 people are on so its not terrible. Was a little worried

Also it really is that easy to setup a minecraft server. Download a JAR from a public URL and run it and you are good to go

Thanks for pointing this out @Beniskickbutt :) We generally do not see any issues with folks hosting Minecraft servers on their VPS's, I can't imagine it being an issue based on the use-case you described.
