    Hell yeah !! Dustin's here

    Now the real party starts!

Oh yes. Let's get to it everyone

Pit bull says dont stop the party!

So do I. Where's Mr. Worldwide nowadays?

Good question. Maybe laying low now that he has the money to do so!

That he did and prolly still does. But I loved his music

Yeah it was good vibing music

Oh yes. He was a good rapper.

    I'd call him more of a pop star/singer :)

Yah. But I guess he likes himself to be called a Latino rapper. Not sure if I read about it somewhere.

  • Shall we surprise Dustin with page 800?

    Yup. Arm though is changing

Raspberry pi is my only exporsure to developing on ARM

Min eis my Android box. Never seen an RPi in real life.

They have buckets of them at some stores in the US. If you can find a microcenter they are bountiful but hard to find a microcenter

I love MicroCenter! That's where I get all my Pi's from.

How much do they cost at MC?

    Usually $10 less than MSRP. So a RPI 5 8GB is $69.99

    Lol. That's a good sign.

That i will be the owner of a new nvme ssd soon? :D I hope so!

Me as well. Been saving money for an SSD for my PC/Media server.

My home server is still booting from HDDs because I'm lazy. It's frustrating if I need to reboot, otherwise, it works well enough.

Mine is an Android box
Tried using 2.5 inch 5400rpm drives for storage but the box can thandle it I guess.

Ah, mines just an old linux desktop with a bunch of random HDDs in it and a very messy docker setup.

I might have to move to something like that very soon. The Android box isnt exactly cutting it. But that's all I have for now.

I found a pc in a dumpster that is actually my server. People left personal info on it too but i wiped it all first because ethics

I really don't understand most people in developed countries who just dispose off their electronics for trivial issues.

I blame Microsoft and Apple for that - people always be needed the latest hardware to run those crappy OSes meanwhile Linux works well on hardware from decades ago.

True that.. Windows just needs to get more optimized. Follow the way of alpine linux

Yeah. I have been guilty of it but its really hard to find an alternative. Like I have 4 PCs lying around. They should go to the electronic safe "dump". If i could though, i would just give it to 4 people in (insert undeveloped country) without even thinking twice. Its just really hard to do that which is a shame :(

yeah, it is hard to get old PCs to people who would be able to really use them

Maybe i could start a charity for it ;)

I am still searching for a way to sync my lights with my music, but idk how.

What type of connector do they have?

my lights? they use 3-pin DMX/XLR cables. Protocol is DMX.

No personal experience but a quick search reveals quite a few reddit threads with solutions. Reddit is my favorite for answers.

Ah mind sending those here  ?

    https://reddit.com/r/lightingdesign/comments/kp2yho/automatic_music_synchronization_to_dmx_lights/

    https://reddit.com/r/lightingdesign/comments/18939wa/best_software_for_syncing_lights_with_music/

    https://reddit.com/r/lightingdesign/comments/xhpssk/is_there_a_way_to_have_dmx_lights_triggered_by/

Well the problem is that SeratoDJ (the program i'm using) doesn't expose any information about the current playing music.

Well of course i could make a system to turn on the lights based on the tones it hears, but it will have a small delay and is very basic.

    https://reddit.com/r/lightingdesign/comments/1auh7y7/how_to_sync_serato_and_lights/

Only option really is SoundSwitch, but it's paid.
That reddit post is useful, but a lot of people are also talking about how other programs can do it. Sad thing is that my hardware is limited to this program.

I wish I could be of more help, but I haven't done any DJ work in probably 10 years, and back then I used VirtualDJ. I don't remember how we had the club lights synced with that either. :#

had virtual dj! I have that as well. Throw back to the simplier times!

I remember two turntables and records - throw back to a better time :sunglasses:
