  My home server is still booting from HDDs because I'm lazy. It's frustrating if I need to reboot, otherwise, it works well enough.

  Tried using 2.5 inch 5400rpm drives for storage but the box can thandle it I guess.

  Ah, mines just an old linux desktop with a bunch of random HDDs in it and a very messy docker setup.

  He seems to have issues when adding media to library..it says the server isn't running.

  i always use some sort of UI admin to setup library folders then move files into those directories on the linux machine running the server

  Mkv is almost 50/50 for me. I'd recommend H264 MP4. Try a sample video and see if it transcodes as well.

  Sad thing is that you can't find a lot of torrents (specially in private trackers) with mp4 format

  Try any sample MP4 video to test.

  Theres some youtube to mp4 converters too out there that are easy to use. Might want to try that as a quick n dirty test

  Yup, I was doubtful of how the guest and host conection would be handled by the Docker image. But everything was automated.
