You should!
Oh sorry. Giveaway - Being the word that's thrown around a lot, we abbreviated it to GA
Which one would you prefer. VPS or a local backup drive?
Yes probably, I would, maybe for that PS5 😜 but never to sure!
This is what I am thinking. Maybe a drive on my local machine with a Wireguard tunnel setup using DNS (I have dynamic IP). What do you guys think?
Depends on the provider of VPS but Local backup is the best when it comes to speed you can easily access the data, if vps provider gives good options for data security then VPS
Check list: Send a frind to US.
Good luck, dude. We always are looking for more people to keep the hype up, here.
That's good.
Haha, already on page 25, so fast!
I'm soon going to add something to my stack as well. Probably a raid NAS
@DaDeveloper I have momentarily surpassed you in the rankings (part of organic conversations). But, I am a man of my word. Not looking for the gaming laptop.
What are you hoping this time?
It will go faster!
I haven't gotten around comparing other providers. Pretty happy with RackNerd. As for security, I like to set it up on my own. It's a good learning experience for me as well.
Will be another great learning experience for me.
Both are good options, I would prefer local drive for fast transfers
🤣🤣
The PS5 is sweet, but, I for sure, cannot keep the momentum up for longer periods this time. So, I'd be happy with the backpack.
I am planning to get a cheap SATA HDD for backups soon. Maybe will put that to use for this.
I was today thinking about Dustin doing another giveaway and here we are.
Go for it. I have 20TB RAID 10 at home + Usenet subscription. Couldn't be happier.
Also planning to run the Wireguard tunnel on a Docker container with the volume mapped to the HDD. This will probably help me isolate it safely and also make sure that the wg tunnel is hopefully not abused by anyone.
I might be blabbering here, cause, I am new to this, and am just theorising. Any inputs are welcome.
Get a nas device with RAID. If you have money use both vps and local drive, vps for offsite backups and local drive for backups
HAPPY NEW YEAR
20TB HDDs or SSDs? It's quite impressive anyways. Does this also host your media server, or is just for backups?
Happy new year!
Yep, here you go!
Was thinking of NAS initially, but, they are too expensive and I have a limited budget.
@noob404 what prize are you going for this time!
