Just imagine fearing to ask about ETA of a server that you've paid for.....
Let's see.
I've opened a ticket and it is not replied yet.
seems that all still waiting delivery
Terms of the offer are clearly mentioned. If someone is impatient or can not wait for delivery setup time, should not order. It is that simple.
Impatient folks have the option to pick other offers.
If someone has already waited for two weeks, then opening a support ticket is justified to get the order status.
At this juncture, people should stop shaming the people who have asked for ETA because there are many who has gone passed the deadline.
Instead of blindly defending a provider for whatever personal reason(s), let HH answer to the queries.
Since support is expensive and people are getting afraid to even ask in a ticket even after crossing the two weeks, this is the only platform which isn't costly and can directly be given a rough estimate by the provider or atleast respond to them as a group.
exactly
HH late delivery
Have 3 services with HH, all promo, I don't think I ever had to wait for more than a couple days. Only 1 ticket raised in 3 years, when my first order was marked fraud, and they fixed in minutes. Pretty happy with their services, but I do agree that they could improve with their communication. But I am willing to let it slide, HH said they had medical things going on.
Also, for the person who was having trouble with private networking, I remember enabling it on both servers, and then following their docs for configuring. Was pretty easy, iirc, and no complications. https://docs.hosthatch.com/networking/#private-networking
2 weeks + on my end as well. still waiting for the delivery (NY storage 2yr plan) since Cyber Monday. The atmosphere in this thread really makes me feel that sending a support ticket to inquire about the delay is something that is discouraged. As a new customer of Hosthatch, this feels so awkward
I am also waiting for the delivery. I completely understand that there is a big difference in support between discounted products and full-price products. In the promo, the clause about resetting the timer is likely because HostHatch doesn't want everyone to abuse support tickets asking about delivery time. So HostHatch mentioned that the setup time is 2 weeks in the promo. However, since it's already been 2 weeks and so many people's VPS have not been delivered yet, and they don't want everyone to open tickets, at the very least, HostHatch should provide an estimated delivery time, right?
Of course. It just takes merely a post to mention that, whatever rest servers are yet to be delivered, will be deliver under X amount of days. Thank you for your patience and whoever doesn't receive his server after X days, kindly raise a ticket so that we can look in to that.
I had another few servers delivered yesterday, waiting on two more. Looks like progress is being made though.
It's worth waiting for. Bear in mind, this is meant for storage:
and for the storage disk:
Nice mix of fast 100GB SSD and massive storage space along with good CPU and amazing connectivity.
$2.29/month
Yeah, fancy that, a discussion of storage on a hosting forum. Boy, I wonder what you'd say if you found out I also own a car...
Look, if your agenda is to tear down a provider, and you can't even back up your own claims of finding superior alternatives, then don't pretend that you're the one here making cogent arguments.
For those who are still waiting for provisioning, don't worry. HostHatch has never failed to deliver, even if the timetable for promotional services might be delayed.
I've used HostHatch for years and have many services with them. @itachikonoha would call that "gloating," but it actually shows I have experience with the provider.
Hostbrr and host-c are very good. The support is very pleasant and they are very nice people.
They're clearly the most promising new kids on the block.
But it's impossible to put them on the same level as hosthatch. Whether it's the quality of the network / network blend or the stability over months / years. (+ RAID 10)
They'll get there, I hope. I'm even sure of it
Yes, hosthatch is lacking in customer support. They tend to communicate poorly or have trouble detecting a technical problem on their end from a customer who lacks technical skills.
I think they can improve their monitoring and also their customer support. Because it's hardly tenable to provide such limited support at scale.
But it's quite complicated to find the right compromise while keeping good prices.
It's still one of the best hosters still offering here
In my opinion
I hope to see them succeed even more.
My ticket got replied. But unfortunately no ETA was mentioned. I can do nothing but wait.
What was the reply?
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to HostHatch! Our sincerest apology for the delay. Payment has been confirmed for the Black Friday server. We understand that as per our terms, the provisioning will take 2 weeks to be completed. However, we have encountered some delays in the delivery. We will let you know as soon as the server is ready.
We appreciate your patience regarding this matter.
Perfect.
I wish they came here and pacified all users with that update.
But good news is, they did respond on the ticket without any fuss.
Wait and watch
So my guess is (like many other providers who offered "dealz" in two weeks etc...) They waited to see who bought what, then placed orders with their supplier/vendor/mfg, then they're currently receiving, configuring and rack+stacking - then finally provisioning orders as capacity lights up. So the "delays" are likely shipping and receiving issues with their supplier and or staff time to config/setup etc.
This is all just a guess - as their website suggests almost instant provisioning, meaning when they have capacity it's automated.
Like many others - also waiting patiently ish...
From the first page...
Alright alright, end of conversation. No ETA, waiting is the only thing I can do.
10 days left in 2024, maybe this server will be my new-year gift. Ahh
It's 14 WORKING days, am I the only one still wait?
Of course not. We are all here with you waiting. According to
HH is encountering some issues so the slight delay is becoming a unknown time table.
That's great to have waiting-teamates LOL
U r not alone. Tokyo 2c8g is still under building
Where were they? I only bought one and still waiting in Stockholm.
Yeah delays are normal but strange they aren't communicating.
I'd be more tempted to take them at their word. In previous years, a week or more before the BF deals they've shared photos of a mountain of disks ready to go specifically for the deal, but if you have several hundred drives to install, you're going to need to build and set up several dozen machines to put them in, then do a run-in test, etc.
Plus over several locations, they might need hired hands in the datacentres, e.g. to plug the machines in etc, so subject to random delays out of their control, or subject to shipping issues from their site after building them locally.
This year my provisioning was around 12 days and I placed my order literally within minutes of the announcement. I've also had previous deals where the server was deployed next day even after saying 2 weeks.
As for the standard offers on the website, they probably are instant provisioning. I'd imagine there's always a few nodes ready with slack available for customers who want to pay the regular price. It would literally make no sense to jeopardise their standard business offering that they can make a profit on and prioritising deals that they're selling basically at cost. That's why they re-iterate over and over what your expectations about delivery time and support should be for these deals.
Hang in there. Good things come to those who wait!
