Even 2 dedicated vCores >> 16 shared vCores

This is true in general with last gen Intel crap. But this is a 64 core EPYC probably with 512GB per socket, which is exactly 8x oversold if they max out the memory capacity. Considering the idlers, 16 shared vCPUs would likely outperform 2 dedicated vCPUs for many workloads.

What if 1 physical core HT is shared by 32 vCores

please double bandwidth if possible, Invoice HS-283332

    thanks

Our billing department will handle that for you all very soon as they reach your ticket (If you submitted one already).

I requested for double B/W but it was rejected :/

I'm pretty sure the billing department can resolve this with an extra invoice, as suggested to the "please double bandwidth..." spammer above :P

  • Looks like Node 4 was rebooted a little bit ago and now I don't have anymore packet loss.

Checked with support and bandwidth is only calculated using the VPS's outbound traffic.

With the CPU so strong I'll be using this VPS regularly so I chose to Limit it's UL Rate to 4000Kbps (3.6Mbps) which is 130% of the 1TB monthly. Went with 130% cause I do sleep sometimes lol.

  • @HostSailor is there a Credit Card/Stripe payment method available? Seen a bunch of payment methods but no direct card payments.

Just in-case if anyone's wondering. They block mailing ports permanently.

Normally we would bypass this through our mail filtering devices, you can check with our support directly via a ticket.

Hmm so are you saying you can unblock the mailing ports? Why was the support guy in the live chat so confident that it's permanently blocked and will not be unblocked even with a proper justification? Do note, i asked multiple times just to confirm he understands what i wrote, he repeated the same.

I have raised this to a senior tech to look into it first thing morning, as I do not want to share another incorrect answer but we indeed do have a mail filtering device perhaps what our support meant is that on the nodes we do block the mailing ports but did not make it clear that we can reroute the mailing through the device. If you have an open ticket, would be great to share the ticket ID with me in private as well over here.

Bit the bullet and bought a commodore. (14 days money back guarantee so trusting everything goes right)

Ticket #AM490557 for the mailing ports unblocking and server provisioning

Let us know how the mailing ports unblocking goes. My understanding from above statement is that at most you can send mails via their smarthost (which does outgoing spam filtering) - so not really something I would trust.

For all the people with network problems and packet loss and stuff. Just be patient, the deal is good, a lot of people bought it, people are setting up and moving data for the first time and YABSing out of their mind so everything is congested.

Just be patient for a bit until it settles down and we will all enjoy idling again.

Thank you for sharing this, this is exactly what we have been trying to balance all day and are very confident as people install all their services, sort their tests out and all that it'll get a lot better.

Would you be willing to allocate two dedicated vCores for the VPS with 8 vCores?

or even with 16 vCores VPS

Can you elaborate more on this?

if I get 8 vCore VPS … would you be willing to allocate 2 dedicated vCores to the VPS in place of 8 shared vCores

    For me
2 dedicated vCores is much better suited for my use case.

    Kindly share your thoughts, @HostSailor

My vps go faster now closer to 1gbip, now around 500-600mbps. Still ipv6 not active tho

    1. From "Reinstall" select "alma linux" - click reinstall (get your password if you want too)

wait for few minutes (10-20 probably)

    1. Go to "Reinstall" again and select "debian 12" - click reinstall red button

Which vps did u actually get? I am wondering if this trick only works for specific type of vps.

Honestly I'm leaning towards hostsailor now despite the astounding offers. I have like a 4-5 years old account with them I think.

Last year when @repuc defrauded ppl their vps straight away were showing poor cpu performance. @HostSailor on the other hand is spreading the load over the nodes bcoz I am concistently seeing good numbers albeit in terms of dollar value :) we all know wt bench scores r acceptable for around $60
