Though I use Ubuntu/PopOS for desktop/laptops, AlmaLinux is my choice for servers, as it's half the iso size of Debian (2GB vs 4GB) is tuned for server by default. dnf is way faster than apt.

dnf uses SQLite database for metadata making updates slower but offers better consistency. It also offers rollback capabilities and detailed transaction logs.

apt, on the other hand, relies on text based metadata file which are faster to parse.
