CHEF, We hyping it over here!
Planning to move to Linux completely very soon. The only hindrance is the though of using Photoshop and Premiere on Wine.
Heard good things about them as well. Unfortunately, users of the app here - Zilch!
Discord is owned by tencent? i know tencent is investor in discord inc, but isn't discord wholly independent, i agree with message encryption and un-moderated things laying on discord. But linking it to ccp is a bit too much. I mean discord have investments from various companies like sony and others.
Your AI is diverse, Ig. Decided to make the chef Indian -
BTW< the query was racknerd-server-chef-gifts-in-hand
I'd rather kill myself than use those products
You could also setup a Matrix protocol chat room with bridges to both of those if you wanted to not use them but still chat with the people on those platforms
might edit the text later with "made possibly by @DeadlyChemist - dustin, please upgrade racknerd-1fc9ea 23.94.217.16"
unsure how well that would work
I mean if it's actually linked to Tencent, it's a safe assumption that it has CCP connections as well. Am I wrong?
Please do that!
Indeed it is
Tried crita or whatever it's name is, it looks promising and for premiere ig there won't anything good for linux anytime soon.
If you don't mind me asking, what's your go to IM then? I mean, not everyone in your friend circle must be tech-savvy. What do you use with them?
Wish I had a circle like that locally.
technically not... tencent just pours money into discord
honestly look at the parlament of country X and oil or car company Y how much money they pour there and how much power they have there...
i mean, money isnt free, they obviously want something back
This one - https://krita.org/en/
BTW, I don't need any advanced features on Photoshop or Premiere Pro. Just the very basic features. Any recommendations?
Telegram hasn't been safe for a long time now, but it's only been more transparent about it recently. They've been co-operating with whatever government wants them to do https://fortune.com/2024/09/24/telegram-provide-user-info-governments-legal-requests-pavel-durov/
The only thing attractive about TG was that it was owned by Pavel Durov, in hopes that he won't be a sell-out. There goes that.
It's not linked, it's just similar how you buy stocks, until you are a major share holder you can't be in decisive committee. Also being an US company do you really think they will allow any connections to ccp?
If you have a beefy enough system, you could setup a Windows virtual machine just for those applications.
signal tells govs to fuck off, and they give them all details as requested, last time connected to server and account creation date, they dont have more to begin with
You are right. Esp. with Trump as POTUS, any such action would result in a big hammer on their heads, if they were to even think about selling data to CCP.
Yeah they are getting back the profits, money makes money, and it's how it functions. It's a simple matter. If i own 10% of a corporate i am entitled to receive 10% of the corporate's profit namely dividends.
Yah, that'd be more convenient, I guess. Been thinking of making the move for almost an year now. Just the thought of moving everything has stopped me. I don't deal very well with change initially.
Well, how can do that since they are still a US-based company and thus a part of 5-Eyes jurisdiction?
ofc they wont, untill you slip them few bills
For photoshop krita and gimp will do, but for premier, it's hard, i know there is shotcut and davinci resolve but there will be some drawback you gotta try it and see for yourself.
The Signal Protocol design is great but the Signal Messenger implementation is flawed in many ways.
Here is a great article about this topic https://dessalines.github.io/essays/why_not_signal.html
Here's another article from 2022 about when the Swiss Army banned the use of WhatsApp, Signal & Telegram for use by their soldiers https://www.rt.com/news/545502-switzerland-army-ban-whatsapp-privacy/
Well, we have ripped through a few pages right now. If we can keep these worthy conversations intact, I not only get to learn a lot from you guys, but, also increase the chances of chef showing up.
Dude is there anything in the phone world you don't keep tabs on?
